I have to come back to mentions of Fleetwood Mac and Eric Clapton?. Add Dylan to the mix and you have my unholy troika. |

Best blues guitarist I ever saw live was Albert King. The setting, my age and the weather made it a life altering experience. Music wise. |

Yeah, so was Michael Jackson and I never got that one either. Few things make me change the station faster than hearing Bruce's voice. Like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. - Ogilthorpe2
Ogie,
Bruce always had a special place in my heart because he taught me to count.

I also don't think we've seen the last of the injuries: he'll be back. Too bad for him this team is so deep - not like last year yet, but maybe getting there. - StLBravesFan
Another Morin fan here.
Keep thinking, he will get two goals or multiple points in an NHL game. It isn't like he then is suddenly noticed league-wide.
The GM's know about most everyone, or have an idea. They may also get an idea in the back of their mind, maybe this is a player I could get on the cheap some day. How might his situation play out in Chicago? Morin may be an upgrade over my secondary scorer, and cheaper. The initial offensive showing to get noticed at the NHL level:All it would take is one point gained while playing on his current line, and, perhaps, in the transition during line changes Morin could still be on the ice when a top six forward comes over the boards. So you see how fast a goal can get scored, as the players relay the puck quickly until it is part the goaltender SEE the Edmonton game the result of an Oilers turnover.
Morin gets points in a few consecutive games, that gets noticed too. But still you have to believe Q is just not going to play him much UNLESS several in game injuries. Could see scenario where he does get some points as described. Yet his better days are ahead once his train leaves Chg. He would do well to make himself a well rounded contributor, able to play effectively like Pirri is currently trying to do. There could be a second offensive line job some year but Morin should do his best to be ready to seize that opportunity when and if it ever comes. |

Just thinking if he gets an opportunity like Hayes has now in Florida. Blackhawks cannot hold on to prospects forever. While most teams have players in a similar situation in their system, even maybe on their parent roster, sometimes it is just a matter of timing for a player to get an opportunity to play a few games and show he can get some points.
I like his shot combined with his nasty streak evident every now and then. Still remember the cross check he administered to the back of an opponent in a rookies camp scrimmage. If only he skated better, but right now he is learning the hard way to be a responsible defensive player.
Morin is the sort of player that even if he plays only a few shifts in a game and doesn't seem too noticeable, in the closing seconds he is put out there and his excellent shot wins a game. It is these qualities that seperated him from a Hayes and it is why I hoped he could find a way to succeed under Q.
I realize that Morin may never make it in Chg. But each of us is free to cheer for prospects and I like Morin's game. Just wish he skated better.
As for the comment about hockey boards, congratulations to you ....you post so often you must be a very successful person able to peruse hockey boards all day long. I hope you better understand now where I was coming from. |

One of those skunks I sent finally gotcha? Hope you get your appetite back for Turkey day. That throat thing can make you lose weight in a hurry.
I want you to start slow, just 10 posts a day for a few days. Work back into it. I don't want you straining something and being out longer. You know how important you are to the board.

Salary cap, one way contracts and the deep roster etc causing Morin to be the yo-yo riding between Chicago and Rockford.
But the only decent game he has had was last night and what did he play - 5 minutes?
Nobody is gonna give him anything but when he makes it full time to the NHL it will because of hard work and perseverance. They Hawks are going to make him earn it. |

Morin will be fine and have a nice NHL career. Right now, while many might discount him for whatever reason, don't think for a minute he is counted on by the organ I zation as a solid depth piece for now.
