Pretty evenly played game played last night IMO. Difference was obviously Crawford's play and the Canucks yet again struggling to finish on their chances. Kind of sad that these teams will play less games against each other from now on though. - Nucker101
Yes, I'm sure you have many regrets having to play in a competitive division. Should speed up the collapse.
I, for one, do not regret less games against your group of cheap shots. We have seen plenty of games like last night this year as teams are shooting for the Hawks. Only difference is Kesler and Edler seem to want to injure Toews and there are always more than a few cheap slashes and attempts to injure from Burrows and rest of the fill ins Gillis calls a team. Bieksa seemed cleaner last night though. Actually hit some people from the front for a change. |

Jeez - Crawford must be in goal for the Bears.
He needs a rest, for God's sake. |

It is very interesting to see how quickly Torts has turned the Canucks into his kind of team. The Canucks did very well for large portions of the game getting in the lanes and breaking up passes, but can't put the puck in the net.
The realignment certainly has played a bit of a factor in neutering some of the more intense rivalries the Hawks have had with Vancouver and Detroit, but it gives us more opportunity to focus on St. Louis, Minnesota and the rising Avs.
Similarly a more competitive division will probably spur more hatred between you guys and your California divisional counterparts. Anyway, I'm looking forward to part 2 of this matchup in the UC on the 20th of December. |

It just figures after all the years of having an inept offense that in many games was out scored by the defense they now have a pretty good offense and a sieve for a defense.

There are different crews used at times...NHL needs to try to make coverage more uniform...There are issues like unions to deal with.

To be fair to the D, they are cobbled together with replacements and the most of the remaining starters on the line and at corner are pretty much glued together.
That said, the safeties have been horrendous more often than not though, and they have no excuses. |

While true, there has to be someone better than Zach (frank)ing Bowman. Guy can't cover anyone. Or saw a penalty he couldn't commit. And as I type this he makes a play. LOL |

Injuries to Melton, Collins and of course Briggs &Tillman etc.... But I KNEW this was going to happen with the new Trestman era.... This new offensive-focused NFL is highly overrated. You still can't win if you can't stop anyone. |

I understand why they kept the same defensive scheme. I really hope they change it next season. If I never see the Cover 2 again, it will be too soon. |

Reverse jinx
But yeah I know what you mean. There's a reason they got rid of him the first time. He really does suck. But, if Kelvin Hayden and Tillman were both healthy then Bowman would not be on this team.
It's just the story of this season. Frankly I'm surprised they are even remotely competitive. Just as last season saw people on the offense that had no place in the NFL, so too does the reverse happen this year
Edit: And sh*t is this team undisciplined |

Yes and no, and part of it is the rule changes that hamper aggressive D play. But bottom line, in any sport, is that denying a score = creating one, whether it's a run in baseball, a point in football or a goal in hockey.
But I admit I'm biased. I dislike gunslinging 45-41 football games. I like final scores of 13-6. I didn't like the inflated goal stats of the Gretzky era either. I'm a D-first oriented fan, I guess... |

Defense doesn't matter with all of the penalties they take.

They said the Bears take the fewest penalties per game of most teams with 4 per, but I haven't seen that recently. Last few games have had a lot of yellow flags flying when the offense is out there.
They're on pace for at least 10 penalties in this game alone. |

Nice block in the back on that play. And do the Bears even know there are tight ends and that its not against the rules to cover one FFS. |

Well Played. Phuck that guy.
Have they stopped the run at all this year? Seems like every halfback, good or bad, has had a field day this season against the Bears D |

The rule changes did start with Manning and Dungy after the Patriots pushed their receivers all over the field. Crybabies |

Yup. Sure did. (Augmented by the concussion stuff of course.)
