Making music. http://thetalkhouse.com/reviews/view/lou-reed And this is just about his latest album. He has 3 other legitimately great hip hop albums. You can dislike him (I do), you can dislike his style of music (personal preference), but to say he's untalented is insincere. Guaranteed you ask any other major musician alive and they'll tell you Kanye's incredibly talented at making music. - rollpards19

Not trying to show my age here, but speaking as someone who grew up with the Beatles, Stones, Zepplin, Clapton and later on U2, Pearl Jam et al. Kanye is a mere pretender. |

I thought it may be from the Perron hit into the boards late in the 3rd.. - Glenman12
Not saying it couldn't be, but i think the Perron hit happened post nut shot and was uber cheap on Perron's part since i'm sure he saw what happened to Johnny earlier.
The Canadian feed of the game showed an Oiler point shot catching Oduya in the
crotch area. It later cut to a replay of him slowly coming to the bench smashing his stick and then showed him on the bench STILL INCENSED, beating up the water bottle. Never seen Johnny O so upset.

Dylen Olsen had a great debut with the Panthers. Good for him!
http://pantherparkway.com...ess-in-his-panther-debut/
ps: sorry if posted already - steelhead
Thanks for this SH....always liked Olsen. He had a nice cameo a few years back with the team and i thought he played well enough to maybe get another look
at the NHL level...at some point...but he obviously was deemed expendable.
Written about this before, but last season, i went to see the Ice Hogs in Toronto. The NHL strike had been dragging on. 8000 people, a packed house, were at the Ricoh Center to see Rockford. Building was electric. Hogs lost, but afterward i somehow funneled myself into the receiving area where the Hogs were meeting a large throng of friends and family. Shaw'zer had a large entourage there to see him.
I'm looking around taking this all in and i literally....bump into an oak tree named Dylan Olsen. He'd been a healthy scratch and was understandably dour but graciously accepted my apology. I quickly recognize him and ask him about being scratched and he bit his tongue not wanting to say too much, but i could detect he wasn't a huge fan of head coach Ted Dent.
I then launch into a rant about how pissed i was at all NHL players for being spoiled...blah, blah, blah and Olsen responds that he understands. Real cool young man. Next thing you know...he's prophetically telling me that he's got it on good authority that the NHL strike will be over within 24 hours and indeed he was CORRECT.
I'll never forget that encounter with a lad i always thought was a keeper despite his rocky tenure with us. Wish him nothing but the best.

Production's usually top notch and there commenators are often much more tolerable than TSN's motormouths.

We cannot pick up a salaried NHL player right now, but near trading deadline we should have some wiggle room. Anyone better than what we currently have, is going to cost more than what we can spend....another way to look at it.
Nystrom let go by Montr as well.
Morin is the second center we all cried about needing. He may not be everything you hoped for, but he will keep improving. A bonus is that he is an in house add. Kostka is the dman we need. He has to remain healthy. He is another who can move the puck, and a mobile defense deep in this skill is a treasured asset in the playoffs. Obviously the biggest concern now has to be that there will be a capable back up, irregardless how much he plays in playoffs behind iron man Crawford.
Actually we all sort of expect a playoff match against either the improved Sharks or the pugnacious feisty Blues.
Phoenix could be a dark horse? If Smith gets hot. If Bodeker or whomever gets an offensive surge then that team is the definition of a darkhorse. Doan injured now but suddenly he scores like seven goals in seven gp. He has never done that. This Stone on their blueline had two goals against us and already has seven tallies. Hmmm.
I give Colorado no respect unless they are still playing this well at the end of the regular season.
You think Havlat will ever be a factor again? The Sharks defense can't be good enough in playoff hockey? Yep, better faster team can a Joe Thorton team go far? Can Niemi carry them? Blues Halak is challenged to stay healthy and keep playing lights out. Lots of ability ready to explode in St Louis and their blueline is their best in a long time. - jhawk59

Bell customers will no doubt be inconvenienced and that is unfortunate. I have the Rogers package and shouldn't see much of a change, but wonder what's going to happen to all the TSN hockey operation. It figures to take a huge hit. - philco28 And Darren Dreger is signed for another 5 years I believe.I could see some guys wanting to jump ship. Will be interesting to see how it washes out.

TSN lured Dreger away from Sportsnet. He's one of my fave t.v. hockey guys and Sportsnet would be crazy to not want him back.

I know its all opinions and such when it comes to music. But werent a couple of Mr. West's biggest hits ripped off from older hits of ACTUAL musicians? Im pretty sure one of his biggest hits was based off of an Elton John song (not lyrically, just the piano part). I dont know, people can defend hip hop artists all they want but they arent nearly as talented as those defenders think they are. Good at marketing an image and making money? Yeah...but that has nothing to do with music. But in the end, its all about entertainment so, to each their own. - BlazinMike
Exactly. They rip off old rock songs, put anything that rhymes to it and the idiots line up to make them rich. Queen, Bowie, Van Halen, Zeppelin, Marvin Gaye and numerous others have ripped off by these "musicians.". Hammer even ripped iff Rick James while James was still recording. They have no shame. |

Any chance we actually see the commentators call out bad calls like HNIC used to?You don't even see replays anymore on controversial calls. - eagle50
As long as it's not Ray Ferraro or Pete McGuire....despise both those a-holes
