This to Tug too....don't think any of us like Brookie on wing...but i actually thought he's been serviceable there this year.

Good mostly down on him, especially at the start of the season, but he's a good Saskatchewan dude...so LOT of character.

I suppose he's been serviceable there, but not "We can roll 4 lines because we have great depth" level... I agree he outplayed Roszy early, and like the idea of him platooning on the 3rd line D without complicating his life too much...

I don't think it was a question of whether he could play in the NHL, just if he could play for a contender like the Hawks.

I know it's easy to confuse Russian sieves, but it's Bryz in net for the Oil now, not Bulin

It's also strange to me because there are several players who had very short careers in the NHL. Titanic, Aitken, Banks and Holmes all played less than 50 games in the NHL for their careers. Granted, that doesn't necessarily indicate they couldn't have suffered head injuries while in the NHL, but many of those guys played in other leagues for the majority of their hockey days.

Could very well be an attempt to bother the NHL into a mini-settlement compared to the one that just occured with the NFL.

Just 20/20 blame game stuff and looking for an easy pay day IMO. Don't feel sorry for any of these guys. They lived the life and many with only NHL cameos as you point out. NO SOUP for these schemers.

He's really cut down on boneheaded "WTF ARE YOU DOING" type plays this year.

Quite simply Patty. They don't win the Cup without him last year. He was outstanding last year in the playoffs. IMO

He's definitely become more dependable with more ice time. Versatile guy and can adopt easily.

Case by case, there's likely a lot more substance....but as stated...lot of these might need money because they didn't manage theirs well. League should push for a case by case adjudication IF that's an option.
