It's also strange to me because there are several players who had very short careers in the NHL. Titanic, Aitken, Banks and Holmes all played less than 50 games in the NHL for their careers. Granted, that doesn't necessarily indicate they couldn't have suffered head injuries while in the NHL, but many of those guys played in other leagues for the majority of their hockey days.

Could very well be an attempt to bother the NHL into a mini-settlement compared to the one that just occured with the NFL.

Actually until he played forward, I thought he was playing quite well on the back end. Well, for him anyway.

This to Tug too....don't think any of us like Brookie on wing...but i actually thought he's been serviceable there this year.

I don't think it was a question of whether he could play in the NHL, just if he could play for a contender like the Hawks.

He's certainly capable of getting ample ice time in an injury-laden d corps and especially being a younger, Tallon-drafted guy on a crappy team like the Panthers.

I am sure Leeman wasn't thinking right because of all the head hits and Vaive drinking too much to ease the pain.
That is one of the risks playing contact sports - head injuries and lots of aches when you get old. One of the reasons they get paid so well. Also remember back then, you were not playing against well armored 6-2 and up 210lb players all the time. If anyone thought that getting hit in the head alot could cause problems down the road, you were living in denial. Where football got it wrong, they had some questionable studies that concussions were not so dangerous or something like that (not sure if i got it totally correct).
