Leeman blew all his money in the horse racing game...no wonder he's looking for welfare and Vaive had a well publicized DUI up here and probably needs a few bucks after paying the lawyers off.

I am sure Leeman wasn't thinking right because of all the head hits and Vaive drinking too much to ease the pain.
That is one of the risks playing contact sports - head injuries and lots of aches when you get old. One of the reasons they get paid so well. Also remember back then, you were not playing against well armored 6-2 and up 210lb players all the time. If anyone thought that getting hit in the head alot could cause problems down the road, you were living in denial. Where football got it wrong, they had some questionable studies that concussions were not so dangerous or something like that (not sure if i got it totally correct).

Christ. We would have killed for rinks like that back in the day.

Olson was a plus 2 in Fla with 20mins of ice time, but the guy can't play in the nhl. ya ya, it was only one game.
