Franchise value is a big factor but there are many teams that lose more $$$ in the bottom line than franchise value grows.

When you see Hawks valued at over $600 mill that includes 50% of the UC.

Yes, Q is that, as you put it, "nuts."

It doesn't matter all that much anyways. Q will shuffle the lines before the 2nd period.

- EKolb13

I'm sorry, but to do it for even a shift is (frank)ing stupid. Center him on 4 FFS. He brings NOTHING as a 2nd line forward against a fast team. Kane must be ripping out his mullet as I type this.

No, not nearly what Jordan had - but substantial outside income numbers nonetheless.

Plus his last couple of sesons with Portland / Houston at over $15MM per.

His problem was stupid business decisions that (reportedly) cost him tens of millions of dollars.

Yeah... Stupid enough to help win a Cup.

Hey, we all have ideas on how the line combos should be. However, Q gets paid the big money to do it for real. I don't see anyone in the organization trying to bang down my door for that job, let alone anyone else who posts here.

Seabs has been fantastic lately actually (minus the Colorado and Nashville games when no one was good). He's getting closer to that elite level again IMO. But I remember Pronger on EDM was right around when I first started really watching hockey and the level of dominance he played at was insane. He just controlled the game so well
- rollpards19

That's when Pronger hit another level...But his St. Louis days were not so special and that was the time I was comparing.

Yo Tang....been pretty cold in Southern Ontario last few days. Winter tires went on today and that old pric k Old Man Winter is close.

Just listening to the pre-game interviews and it sounds like the game plan
is to batten down the hatches defensively and try to avoid a track meet
with the "Earl"

Erat has asked for a trade...

Maybe he will find his way back to Nashville cuz everything fell apart once he asked to leave there.

Sometimes you have to watch what you ask for............

Assuming you're referring to me there:

He's using his accounting to justify increasing ticket prices - and, if I recall correctly, get a R/E tax break for the U/C.

He only has one legitimate justification for increasing ticket prices: because 22,000 people will pay the increased prices each game.

He only has one justification for seeking a R/E tax reduction: because the city would be willing to give him one.

I don't care how much ticket prices are, or how much money they make - just stop with the self-serving justifications.

Is Subban worth worth 2 million more than Keith? Because he's going to get 7 million starting next year. His coach doesn't even play him when they have a lead late in the third. Plus he's a bad teammate (last playoffs screaming at Paccioretty). I'd much rather trade Duncs (I wouldn't) for OEL or Pietrangelo.
- rollpards19

Subban winning the Norris was a complete joke and is going to end up costing the Habs plenty of money at contract time. He isn't even in the top 6 defenceman in the league. Unless injuries are a factor, Babock and Yzerman won't select him for the Olympic team; high risk. all-about-me type of player.

Just catching up on everything Blackhawks. Blackhawks.com, just finished re watching the inside story on Hammers 200 foot empty netter. I can't get enough of that. Its funny as it happened, I was thinking. I wonder what Hammer was thinking right then. Would die to get an earful of the behind the music on that goal.

Ok, just warming up. Sorry guys....

Hi TG,

Again why the snarky comment. I know you are not the coach and that needles you but he is just stating the obvious. Q's the coach and it doesn't matter a Tinkers damn what you, I or anyone else thinks.

As someone who is officially priced out of the ticket market, I am more than happy to let the corporate clients overpay for seats and suites and $12 an ounce mixed drinks at the Ketel One club so I can watch winning hockey from my La-Z-Boy for free at home next to the fireplace.

When I saw him last season sitting on an opponent's chest and pinning the guy's arms down with his knees while savagely pounding on the helpless guy's face while the linesman stood there watching, I lost any interest in him as a hockey player.

Cuz it is funny. I don't care about being the coach, I just love how I am snarky, yet the person prior to the comment I commented on, simply said they don't like Handzus. Then he was lectured and basically told, GET IN LINE.

I admire the loyalty and faith many have in their leaders. You just can't question authority. It's like the old USSR days..

But yes I am the snarky one. Going forward I will file formal requests to ask if I can make a comment about each player.

Hey the Hawks won a cup with Boynton, why don't we go and see if he wants to play too!

So that's what I'm doing now, lecturing? C'mon, don't you think you're going a little too far with that?
