I understand disliking the length with Streit, because he never was a top caliber player to begin with. However, VL not only has been a top flight player, but still was when TB bought him out. He won't be the same at the end of the contract, but he'll still be productive.

He's been better than I thought. I was against the deal because I was hoping the team would try to build through the draft and move forward with Schenn as a center.

I didn't like the Streit deal and I still don't like it.
