Cammi played some C for us but is better at wing. Yea, I doubt they move Weiss.

You Flames fans are out of your minds if you think Camm, as a UFA rental, is going to be traded for an elite young prospect.

Cowen has been complete garbage this year, but his potential and upside is huge. And he's signed at a reasonable dollar for 3 more years.

There is literally zero chance that Ottawa would trade Cowen for Camm straight up.



That being said, Camm is exactly the player we need right now. We need a sniper to play with Spezza and keep the Ryan/Turris line intact.

I could see them combining a promising prospect and a good young roster player for him.

Something like Pageau/Prince/Puempel/Stone + Smith/Condra/Greening...

That's a good return for Calgary in exchange for a guy who's going to walk in 5 months.

Keep in mind we don't have our 1st this year, and because of that likely wont give up our 1st for next year, so those are off the table

However, who knows- in Ottawa we apparently have this thing called an "internal budget" because our owner is cheap as f*ck and refuses to spend over $57 mil, which we're pushed right up to at the moment..

MacLean experimented Ryan with Turris (who is really starting to come into his own) and they've simply been too good to split up. Truthfully, I think he's going to find his way back to Spezza's wing to ignite something.

However, if Ott could land Cammalleri to play with Spezz, it's a Really good 1-2 punch.

You never know. If Van falls a little further he might be desperate to save his job. I agree though that trade would have to include a 2nd from Van. That Booth deal is just horrible. If it was expiring then maybe but I think there are 2 years left. (not sure though)

Exactly. If CGY retained 1/2 of Cammis salary the $ would be a wash. In fact you would come out $100k ahead.

Dreger is just saying that because Toronto could use Brayden. I don't see why PHI is trading Brayden Schenn at this point. Luke I could understand.

How about Shinkarauk and a 1st for Cammi, from what I remember I heard good things about him from the rookie camps.

You watch how desperate teams become at trade deadline time... 2 points between 1 and 8th in the west... And if the NYR and Philly's are on the cusp...they'll do it. Mind you Cammi gets to decide as he has the NTC...

No deal in my opinion. Shinkaruk is exactly what we don't need. Another small forward, and apparently he's got a bit of an attitude problem. The same goes for Del Zotto, I like the guy, but we already have the exact type of player in Brodie and Russell.

I think a lot of people are undervaluing Cammy as well, not to say he's gonna get a Vanek esque return, but he's still worth quite a bit. He has proven he can score, he's a proven playoff producer, he works well with most people he plays with, he's a leader in the dressing room and at $3 mill instead of $6 mill? that's a steal! If he's traded soon, then it gives them, pretty much, all year to talk contract extension. As an example, (not sure of Minny's needs) but in my opinion a trade like Cammy + a role player or one of our many 6-7 d-men, for Coyle and a first would be an excellent return. Just an example though. But coyle is a righty, he's a big guy, and he's a young guy. Exactly what we need no?
