I never suggested getting players like these would be easy. Let's forget Burns, Bickell & Lucic---they'd cost too much even if teams would let them go.
We don't know what the Oil offered for Ward or any others. But with MacT saying the Oil have a core 8 disturbs me. You have to give quality to get it.
So, if Yak or Ebs was available, I'm sure we could get a 3-4 D plus a big winger, at least. Players like Maroon, King, Clifford, Boyle, Pyatt, Ashton, Kulemin, Chimera & Brouwer, to name a few, could be had if we're willing to release some of the core.
How about getting some veteran leadership from guys like Morrow and Hartnell? Just sayin' there's guys out there who would go to war for us, but we gotta give something to get pieces we need to get a better mix of assets.

I don't think a single player you mentioned is going to help us at all other than Brouwer. The rest would be more of what we have and would not be the magical fit some of you think. I would never give up an Eberle or Yak for a 3/4 D and one of these guys. Not a chance.
