But is he? Hes not playing against the top line, but yeah his play I think has improved, seems like a solid top 4 guy with room to grow
- poohcrumbs

yes.. he is.. getting matched up against the second and third line mostly instead of the third and fourth like him and fraser were last year.

Franson had the 1 gaffe that caused the goal, but other than that it might have been his best game this year at least body wise, Rangers worse game in a few games, but not bad, Gardiner was ok too - I think they should send Rielly back when Fraser is ready, but if we send him back and somebody gets injured can we bring him back?

as much as I expected more from franson this season, he does in fact take the body....top ten in the nhl in hits.
- Barx

First, while I do give some credibility to hits, ours always seem to be inflated.

Secondly, I do agree that he's taking the body more, but his skating is still poor and he seems to give the puck back a lot in the defensive zone.

I like what he brings to the PP, but I don't think he's progessed much from last year. I'm still only comfortable with him getting bottom pairing minutes at even strength.

The real shame is that Gardiner will be the casualty of Franson's sloppy play.

Only on an emergency call-up, we can't recall a junior player until their season in the CHL is over.

oh hell.. there has to be someone on the marlies that can come in and play bottom pairing minutes.

its not something i am overly worried about

people tend to conveniently forget he is playing against better forwards this year
- Dozzer

true...hence why his lack of mobility is exposed more often and he lacks the time and space to make good decisions with the puck.
with that said, he's not a concern for me.

Bozak didn't rule out the possibility of playing tomorrow. Says it depends on how he feels when he wakes up in the morning.

yup.. its great.. he's doing okay but isnt doing anything that will win him a massive contract.

if carlyle left him on the bottom pair he could of gone to arbitration in the summer and gotten himself a huge contract.. now.. not so likely to happen

Franson is still a work in progress for sure....but it simply is incorrect when someone states that he never takes the body.

He'll finish the year with around 40 (likely more) points.

He's getting a huge contract either way, even if his defensive game were worse than Aki Berg's.

I'm sure the plan was to keep him under his 40 games, let him play with canadian squad and get some jr. game dominance.....and I would be fine with that.
But he sure is making it hard for management to send him down.

I'll go with Yzerman-Lemieux. Would have to spend time finding a date, so just take my word for it okay...
