Gardiner is progressing far better than Franson is this year.

I had hopes that Franson could progress and potentially take Dion's position as the top Offensive Defenceman for Toronto, but he keeps making poor decisions. Pinching at the wrong time, that shot into the shins last night when he could've thrown it around the boards. Well, I guess he did take over for Dion this year in that regard.

Franson still doesn't use his size, rarely takes the body, and isn't the presence I hoped he'd be on the blueline. I'd be more inclined to keep Gardiner and trade Franson

A lot of top guys havent gone to the world juniors. I know that. But those guys were probably playing regular minutes on the nhl team.

My argument isn't about the world juniors being a must to play. My argument is, if they are not playing him in the NHL, to let him join the World Juniors/WHL.
