Mind you, I think the Carolina Hurricanes would trade Faulk for the right price. Simple because after spending all the money and not achieving results, they can't get rid of the vets,their cap is out of control on bad contracts like the Staals, Ward, Gleason, Semin and so on, that getting assets that salvage what one player can bring back and continue this denial of a rebuild that it could happen.

Faulk's value isn't going to change, he's a highly sought after "2-way" (I'm not going to vouch for that, tho, French) defenseman who isn't really having the stats to back up can't miss. Between the various problems there, you realistically can get Faulk for a first, an upper middle roster offensive defenseman and a decent prospect. Because, if they can't dump Gleason, who are they going to move? They aren't going to get better, and a 1st, Gardiner and say either a prospect like Leivo or a roster player like Kulemin is at best what they can hope for, given most other teams aren't that desperate or don't have the assets to willingly give up to make that trade. And if a team does make such a proposal, that team isn't getting better in the process.

And hell, if they want a cheaper Gleason, we'll swap Liles/Gleason. Because honestly Liles plays better D than Gleason right now, and Liles hasn't played an NHL game since the spring.

And when Orr hit an Islander player, he was immediately grabbed by an Islander player who fought him. We only need one guy to talk tough and not fight, not 2 guys. Especially when they can't do much of anything else besides fighting and talking.

So be it. Will have to defend themselves. Like I said, Orr and McLaren have brought only a shadow of the toughness they provided us last year. Until they get back on that track, we really don't need to be playing them both every night. Against tougher teams, sure, but not every game. Especially when we just brought Clarkson in to provide some toughness too.

Meh they only played 6.5 mins. Top line was needed for only 16. We ground out the win again. I don't mind the two of them that much the only time the islanders got goonish was at 19:59 of the 3rd.

Holland has looked ok inbetween those two.
For the first game back, I would put Kadri on the second line.

They only played him like 12 minutes last night and that was with Kadri out. Can't see him playing with Kessel and JVR with Kadri back.
