Honest question: do you think Eakins is a bust? I get the feeling that he's still going to be a good move for you guys... that there's a whole lot of "undoing" of bad culture/habits that needs to still be overcome.

Maybe I'm too optimistic on that?

At this point it doesn't matter.. you just cant fire him now. Maybe he will indeed turn the culture around... Mac is sticking with him, they've been through enough coaches recently.

Some of his decisions though have been mind bottling... playing Ryan (frank)ing Smyth so much.... I mean (frank)

I think he's improving. But, when he punched Clutterbuck in the back of the head tonight, and then looked at the ref like "really, I'm going to get a penalty for that?", that was pretty stupid.

I mean, sure, if you want to clock someone from behind and take a penalty then fine, do it and sit your 2 minutes. But don't blast the dude in the back of the head 3 feet from the ref, and then complain about getting the call.

Franson made probably 1 noticeable mistake tonight which caused a goal. Ranger i still hate Rielly, Gardiner, Phaneuf, Gunner played excellent tonight

I just think Tim's ego has grown beyond the normal orbit of a player; I worry about what the locker room is like bringing him in to replace Fleury.

Franson, I think. Carlyle seems to be giving a lot of ice time to Gardiner lately, too. Think he might have turned the corner finally.

Franson is a good player--could fetch a decent price. I sure wish we could upgrade to another #1 dman somehow.
