Just watch the first season, then pretend nothing else ever happened.
Seriously, that show holds the distinction of the worst crash in quality ever. - Leeman4Gilmour

Oh, man, now I feel like you're going to want to watch it just to see what happened.
But it got terrible, trust me. Season two was still alright, but it was split up by the writers' strike.
I tried watching it as long as possible, but it's just all a blur of terrible and abandoned plot lines now. I made it part way through season 3 and quit. Apparently, it got an abrupt cancellation at the end of season 4 - leaving even more loose ends - to make matters worse. |

I'm intrigued but I don't want to be frustrated with the dead ends, especially an abrupt cancellation...I'll pass.

So, of 30 teams, he got 10 correct (and I was trying to be charitable, allowing for a deviation up to 4 spots). Anyone could get well over 10 correct just using last years standings with any modification.
He got 20 wrong. Of those, a majority were batpoop crazy.
Hoo-ray for advanced stats! - Leeman4Gilmour
My favourite part of his article.
There is no better example of the clash between traditional hockey analysis and statistical hockey analysis than the Toronto Maple Leafs. Where the Leafs finish the season will go a long way to indicating which approach is being undervalued. |

Does this mean that they'll give up if the Leafs defy the advanced stats? That's what it sounds like to me.
But, as we've already seen, they don't. They simply pen more articles that attempt to come up with some "luck" factor to reconcile how far removed from reality they are. |

Good to have our offense back.
And I don't just mean tonights game, im also including Bozak and Kadri likely returning to action next game and Clarkson getting the monkey off his back. |

Nice to see smith doing well in an offensive role... 2 goals, 5 points in 3 games since coming back up (Kadri suspension). It's not like he doesn't have the skill set, as he is currently tearing up the AHL.
man am I impressed with Phaneuf this year, he might not be racking up the points, but he has been rock solid. +11 through 21 games, playing a hard 24 mins/night.
The guy deserves his 7 mil, time to lock him up Nonis! |

easy there muchacho... Dion has been pretty good ill give you that, but he's also shown a lack of effort at crucial times. If the Leafs lock him up for say 6 years then thats 6 years of him being captain. Not sure if i want that. It's a contract year for him too so don't expect him to keep this up. 7 mil for a guy on pace for on pace for 35 points isn't a smart move. |

What a beauty goal to get that monkey off his back. Shockingly to some he does have some skill. |

Man, what a crazy logjam at the top of the Western Conference. 2 points separates all playoff teams!
Also, pretty nuts that Boston is 1st in the East, but they currently wouldn't even be in the playoffs in the West.

Holy (frank) I just looked at that.
Oilers would be like 3rd last in the east easy. That's how bad it is.

If the Oilers get the 1st overall again, I think I'm going to jump off a bridge.
Correction: The Oilers are allowed to get the 1st overall, as long as Vancouver misses the playoffs. |
