Does this mean that they'll give up if the Leafs defy the advanced stats? That's what it sounds like to me.

But, as we've already seen, they don't. They simply pen more articles that attempt to come up with some "luck" factor to reconcile how far removed from reality they are.

Nice to see smith doing well in an offensive role... 2 goals, 5 points in 3 games since coming back up (Kadri suspension). It's not like he doesn't have the skill set, as he is currently tearing up the AHL.

man am I impressed with Phaneuf this year, he might not be racking up the points, but he has been rock solid. +11 through 21 games, playing a hard 24 mins/night.
The guy deserves his 7 mil, time to lock him up Nonis!

easy there muchacho... Dion has been pretty good ill give you that, but he's also shown a lack of effort at crucial times. If the Leafs lock him up for say 6 years then thats 6 years of him being captain. Not sure if i want that. It's a contract year for him too so don't expect him to keep this up. 7 mil for a guy on pace for on pace for 35 points isn't a smart move.
