I loved how everyone thought the Wings would come over and dominate the East and battle Ottawa and Boston for tops in the division/conference. Oh, and that the BJ's would surprise us all.

I love that Montreal and Ottawa's success last year was supposed to be more "real" than ours.

Anyone could see that what Ottawa did last year was the result of a lot of crazy anomalies coming together at once. They had the "scrappy underdog" label.

I look at Montreal, Toronto, and Ottawa and the only team of the bunch that conclusively improved in the off-season was Toronto.

And Ottawa fans had the stones to call our previous season "luck"?

What's funnier is that he wrote another article this year (November 6) about which teams have been the "luckiest". We came in at #2.

It was basically just a giant excuse to show why his predictions were so terrible. Surprise, surprise, if the real standings don't jive with his predictions, it must have been luck, or a lack thereof.

I still follow Scrivens on Twitter - he's a quirky dude lol like he'd fit right in with the cast of the Big Bang Theory.
