My favourite Phaneuf-hater logic:

The guy sucks because when the coach plays him 28-30 minutes, he is tired at the end of the game.

Trade him!!!!!

- Atomic Wedgie

The best way to put an end to it is to ask them to name the last Leafs defender as good as him.

My memory only extends back as far as the early 90s, but I cannot think of one in my lifetime.

I've noticed him, he's had a couple good chances. they should play him a bit more.
- TrevLoyd

He's got the build and throws it around. Whats not to like?
Hopefully, he impresses enough with the time he has, and sticks around.

Ranger just blocked a shot with his face and got back up.

At least he's trying and he's not nearly as bad as people make him out to be. I'm not defending him but he is getting progressively better.

He has made mistakes tonight but let's be fair, so has Gunner, Gardiner and Rielly.

Yes he is progressing not as fast as we had hoped but def feels more comfortable and has an underrated outlet pass.

very jealous.
My wife is a canoe with a hole in it. She always brings me down.

I'm kidding. My ol lady is pretty badass. She's a huge hockey fan, and goes to all the Knights games with me, and even knows more players than me.

I'm just going to say it:

JVR needs to quit diving. The kid thinks he is playing for the Canucks.

He has too much talent to pull that crap.

Bryan McCabe. Finished 4th in Norris voting one year.

But of course if you hate Phaneuf, you hated McCabe.

On a serious note, I can say with 95% certainty that Dion Phaneuf is the best Leafs defenseman since Borje Salming.

Let that sink in. Give him the extension already.

McCabe and Kaberle are probably the only two with a shot at taking the title of "best since Salming". McCabe, as you mentioned, hit higher highs, but lower lows.
