As much as I dislike the Canucks, That was a really bad call by the Ref's. That goal should have tied it. The rules need to be changed. That was clearly a good goal..
I hate it when the Ref's decide a game by a bad call, And this happens way to much in the NHL.
I see video Challenge coming in the next few years. But what should be the penalty if the coaches get it wrong? - socaldave
In tennis the players get one challenge per set. If the challenge is won (ie the player was right) then they keep their 1 challenge which they can use again. If they're wrong, then they lose it.
If the NHL gave each coach 1 or 2 challenges per game then it could work the same way. |

I'd do it like the NFL, you get one challenge and if you lose, you lose your timeout. And if you already have used your timeout, you don't get to challenge. |

This year isn't the year to make any trades. It would be a good idea if we aren't going to be competitive to let Gillis go after this season and try and make a run for Connor McDavid next year's draft. We really need someone of that calibre to maybe one day be great again. I get the feeling we're going to slide farther into irrelevency and mediocrity if we don't. - DariusKnight
There's no guarantee for any team that they'll land the #1 overall. And for the Canucks to be even in contention we'd need to shed all of Bieksa, Hamhuis, Sedins, Edler, Garrison, and Kesler in order to have a shot. That would be a full blow-up and in my opinion unjustified.
If we're desperate for McDavid then our better bet would be to attempt to acquire a sh!tty team's 2015 #1 and hope it becomes the 1st overall. BUF and FlO would have to be the front runners and it seems like BUF is hoarding picks not trading them. |

Is it currently only 1 timeout a game? Maybe make it 1 per period or 2 per game? |

Just an FYI that Cap Geek is projecting that we have $5.6m in available cap space at the deadline ($2.8m right now). - AlexF
Unless someone is willing to waive a ntc, it is hard to contemplate giving up youth and/or prospects for what may turn out to be a rental. I really thought GMMG was heading in the right direction when he became GM, but it is like he tied his own hands with some of his deals.
Guessing Booth also has some kind of limited ntc or nmc as he had to agree to the conditioning stint in Utica.
I know people just want to trade or get rid of Booth, but I really think he needs to be traded somehow, even if it means eating 2mil of salary. Just picture him staying and getting hurt and not being able to buy him out. Even if he was scratched when healthy at the end of the season, I could see him hurting himself somehow in the press box and being put on IR.
Maybe too pessimistic....

Those numbers change almost daily and can appear much higher than they are.
fact is 64 mil cap and 63.4 mill salary at the moment. LTIR changes things and Weber going down changed it. Still they are extremely tight. |

Too complicated for no reason. Soccer might be the only sport that would be hindered by a challenge or video review given that the game doesn't stop. But North American sports are obsessed with so many stoppages in play for various reasons (tv timeouts, etc) that an additional video review would hardly have any impact on the flow of the game and therefore shouldn't be penalized if challenged incorrectly. Just give them a challenge or two each and be done with it. |

And maybe to discourage abuse for delay, maybe an equivalent icing call on a lost challenge? |

Except not so much a deterrent. NFL teams use every timeout for every half, NHL not so much. |

So like a FO in your own zone if you lose the challenge? That's fair. |

They get 3 per set in tennis... then they add 2 for the tiebreakers.

I'd like to see NHL coaches get a challenge every time the whistle is blown. If, upon review, the linesman made the wrong call on an off side, the face off location can be adjusted. |

Why does everyone have NTC's is the biggest question? |

The whole city is upset with last nights call. The reason that everyone is upset is because Canucks struggle to score. If we had a team that could put the puck in the net this would be a non issue. |

NOT sustainable though. - LeftCoaster
I would wait to see who gets the First overall and offer up a Huge Package for Mcdavid
Edler, Kesler, Shinkaruk a 1st and a 2nd and Hope its enough id add kassian as well if needed but im not convinced hes worth anything at all yet if ever |

I liked Tort's comment that one single play does not win or lose a game. They had plenty over opportunity to score before and after that.
A first line and 2 third lines with special guest cameo appearances from all or part of the 4th line. Good times. |

Not worth it.... He isn't proven to be Sidney Crosby yet..... Both Kesler and Edler should fetch a top prospect and a 1st round pick each by themselves. Is yakapov worth that much?

Buy out booth this year Sign Moulson or Callaghan if we get lucky
Corrado plays with Stanton on the bottom Bieksa with Garrison
If Mcdavid turns out to be the Franchise player like sid best idea ever if not worst idea ever I say do it
Assuming we get Moulson in Two years we have
Sedin Sedin Burrows
Higgins Mcdavid Moulson/Callaghan
Kassian Horvat Hansen (Assuming we don't have to trade Kassian to get Mcdavid)
Santorelli Richardson Sestito
Hammy Tanev
Garrison Bieksa
Stanton Corrado
Lu
Lack
Seriously not all that bad and we finally get younger Maybe Gaunce is there as well Flame on
Im im afraid of is all we have is the twins that's it. Take a chance Kesler and Edler can be traded and replaced go for a home run for once the last time we did that we got the twins we have the assets to try again but if we keep going on like this we will become terrible once the twins slow down. and yes I am drunk! |
