I saw something recently on the NHL Network from the Bruins training camp. Chara did 39 chin ups. And benched 250 pounds like 20 times.

The funny thing is, Byfuglien isn;t even my first choice. I'd rather have a guy like Yandle, or Bouwmeester.

But I'm not about to simply dismiss a guy with his production and abilities out of hand because he's fat.

As the team has floundered post-Pronger, I'm on board. I had my reservations, but discussions with Bradley put them to rest. That and Byfuglien's stubborn refusal to suck at hockey suddenly.

I think Gostisbehere has that potential. But yes, that's 3-4 years down the line (for him to be able to do that). Kid is incredibly fast.

Do you strictly measure players in terms of points? None of the prospects will likely give you the point output of Byfuglien, but they may have a few guys who are better all around defenseman than him.
