Improved in what sense? you had schultz leave, gardiner and lupul packaged for us, and did another trade simply based on "needs" where ducks need defense (blacker) and leafs needed a center (holland)
- Mapleleafs_91

and they gave us fraser lol

I wish a team would trade for and make a line of Burns, Lovejoy and Skinner.

Jesus, two and a half years since we traded for the guy and people still don't know how to spell his (frank)ing name.

And in goal, Sideshow Bobrovsky....

Also, I'd have gone for (Groundskeeper) Willie Mitchell...

Revealing stat: Goal-less so far this season, Nik Kulemin has 2 shots on goal in seven games.

- Fruitcakenipple

Kulemin has been almost invisible. Some decent board play, but other than that not good at all. He needs to chip in the odd goal or assist every now and then.

I always liked Holland and thought he would have been a prominent player in the NHL by now but it makes me think that giving Colborne away was a mistake. Maybe Holland will be better but they are both centers in their early 20's that can score in the AHL. The big difference is that one cost us Blacker and the other we gave away for a bag of pucks.
- xxCHRISTOFIRExx

Blacker was a bag of pucks. Colborne has 4 points this year...he's terrible.

Holland scores 2 goals tonight I bet....has quite the shooting percentage.

I actually like the Holland pickup. Sometimes first rounders don't pan out on their original teams, but move on and get it together somewhere else. Id have been happy with this trade even before all our centres went down.

As for last night: Get over it. Even though it was BUF, they were playing hard for a new coach.

Most teams would have a tough time without their big three centres.

Yeah it's been apparant that Blacker just wasn't gonna be able to get over the hump, especially when we have so many other guys in the system.

Could say the same thing about Clarkson, though I'm willing to be patient with him, because, well, we're stuck with him, so we may as well shutup and just let him figure it out.

It was alarming to see him passed by so many other d-men, so I have no issue with his trade.

OTOH...I hope we don't pass the 25 game threshold with Holland. It would turn the 3rd into a 2nd, which would automatically turn the 2nd from the Bernier trade into a 2015 2nd. Three years in a row without a 2nd rounder is a little worrisome.

Connor Murphy called up and playing because he's a right hander...Rundblad is a right hander but not playing...TRADE!!!!!
- AdamFrench

There was a time when Rundblad was gonna be the second coming of that guy who was gonna be really good but didn't for whatever reason.

I'd rather Holland turn into a legit 2nd or 3rd line C than worry about a 2nd round pick...

Yeah, I was hoping for an immediate impact from Clarkson. But he was behind the 8-ball starting so late, then when he gets back the rest of the team starts dropping like flies. At least he's making his presence felt...Kulemin on the other hand is barely noticeable right now.

Yeah I do agree that they've been a little too liberal handing out second rounders. We lost one for Bernier and one for Bolland.

Leafs don't need any more 3rd or 4th line players right now so the 2nds would be fine with me, but the 1st now are untouchable unless it is a top 3 player (center)

Can't play defense and has OEL and Yandle ahead of him putting up top-5 d points. Somebody will make good use of him.

Meh Kuli's not paid enough to be a big-time scorer.

He does his job quietly. Probably won't be back next year as his salary will go to retaining Raymond(I'm assuming)
