Just a Ducks fan's perspective here. Holland is a great AHL center. Norfolk fans are pissed at this deal.
As for Staubitz, why pay someone $650k to get his ass kicked in the AHL much less the NHL? If the Leafs want to do it, hey, more power to them.

They should have holland between lupul and clarkson. And smithson/mcclement between JVR and Kessel. Why? Because they are a lesser version of bozak who will just win the faceoff and "watch" kessel and JVR work the usual magic, since bozak does nothing else

You do realise you got nothing back that's going to improve your roster, right?

I always liked Holland and thought he would have been a prominent player in the NHL by now but it makes me think that giving Colborne away was a mistake. Maybe Holland will be better but they are both centers in their early 20's that can score in the AHL. The big difference is that one cost us Blacker and the other we gave away for a bag of pucks.

What, exactly, is the difference between the two?

The difference, CHRISTOFIRE, is that the Leafs gave Colborne every opportunity to make the team and be an impact player in the NHL. He failed in every aspect and was worth less than a bag of pucks to this team. So instead of repeating previous failures and attempts on a player that was virtually useless, they decided to try something different.

At some point, you have to accept that the square peg doesn't fit into the round hole. A much better solution than just repeatedly ramming the peg over and over to no avail.
