More and more, Budaj is becoming a perfect backup goalie

The offense blows though.

I know the feeling.

he wins his games when he gets them, never hear a word from him, what more do you want?
- muffin_man

I was referring to the lack of offense. Average at best.

And yes, Budaj plays the role of back up perfectly.

Good god Murray is awful out there. He may be dumber than the Kostitsyn brothers.

God he's bad. His hockey IQ borders mental retardation.

So does Therrien's but I digress.

I was just kidding there. I just never liked Therrien after his first year with the habs, the first go around. Seems like a coach that has a very short shelf life and that players tune out rather quickly.

That said, it doesn't all fall on coaching.

Agreed.

His options up front are so limited. We got captain useless, Desharnais, Bourque, Pacioretty that don't contribute offensively.

That doesn't leave him with many options.

I actually think Gionta has been having a decent season so far. As for the others, not sure what to think to be honest. Bourque reminds me so much of Chris "hands of stone" Higgins, it's not even funny. DD & Pacioretty need a spark to turn things around. As great as the kid line has been, they should not be relied upon night in and night out to lead the way offensively. The vets need to balance out the scoring.

what's happening with Pacioretty is a shame. he has a rare blend of size, speed and skill. he's everything you want in a top-line winger. not sure if it's the contract that killed his willingness to play a physical game or Therrien/Bergevin simply not being proponents of physical hockey, but his attributes are being completely wasted right now.

Bourque only shows up once out of every 3 games. you look at Bourque... big guy who can fly and skilled enough to pop 20-25 goals. there's a reason he went undrafted even with all that size and skill.

Gionta takes a lot of poop from fans but he plays way more physical than guys who are half a foot taller than him.

he's become a streaky guy no doubt. i think he'd be less streaky if he played a bit of a dirtier game. most of those streaky guys plays soft/timid games. (Phil Kessel)

Yes very true. Maybe he needs to bulk up some and play for a while without an injury.

just looked at the standings... Rangers really picked it up after that start. they're right behind us for the last WC spot. 4-point game tonight.
