Is he suspending the act or the injury?
- Jeffmt

I don't like that the extent of the injury plays into the suspension but it happens in all cases

You should. Any team without it's top 3 centers is going to have a hard time winning games. Even VS the lower echelon teams.

Leafs need to dig deep and withstand this mid season adversity, should make for great tv on the 24/7.

Be honest, have any of you ever badmouthed Twister? Because I keep forgetting what a gem this movie is.

We should at least get 1 point out of Buff.
- Betelgeuse

I would be happy with a couple of loser points but like leafland said, time to dig deep.

I truly believe theres a big trade in the works.. Not sure who gets moved but it'll be a blockbuster. Im not a Dion hater, but i would be happy to see him go. Not sure who we could replace him with but i think singing him to a monster contract would could be the wrong move. They should at least look at other options before signing him.

Agreed yet we still have people on here bragging about how were going to kick their asses which will make it worse in here if we do lose

The south park episode last night about PS4 vs Xbox was hilarious.. It made a good point tho.

No surprise. Deserved something.

Interesting to see how this team hold up vs. BUF this weekend.

I don't buy that anything's in the works.

If they poop the bed this weekend then Nonis may go looking, but the fact is that our schedule is favourable.

Thank God Nonis is the GM... Maybe bring in a couple second pairing Dmen and just spread the ice time out a bit more.

Two questions:

1. Would you rather lose key players during a difficult stretch or an easy stretch? Show your work.

2. Does facing injury/suspension problems help down the stretch as many guys will have fewer games plays and should, theoretically, be less banged up?

I'll bet they've got a couple "low end centermen for X picks" types of deals sitting on their desk.

You can basically go out and grab Gaustad whenever you want. Call up with a 2nd rounder and a low end prospect and that's a done deal.

EDIT: That's probably an overpayment. Ugly contract, but a useful player.

Maybe there's somebody who wants to flip and overpaid center for an overpaid *cough* Liles *clears throat* defenseman.

Even with all our players healthy, the Leafs would still be a Cinderella team if they won the cup. They don't have enough depth yet. They have very few forwards who can make the jump from the AHL. I know a lot of you guys don't like Ashton, but he's the best guy we have on the Marlies.

1. right now during the difficult stretch... take the points when we can..... rather than risk getting very few... if we were a bit more elite I would chose the easy stretch because we would probably still win most games injured.......

2. I think as long as were healthy by the playoffs this team will be tough to play...that is when all the Clarkson haters will eat their words......

I don't see how this team has a favourable anything (aside from our goaltending) with McClement as our best and only natural C.

Difficult stretch. Depends on what your team's record is though. Are they better against teams above them in the standings or do they tend to gobble up easy points? My take is winning the easy games you have to win is a sure sign of making the playoffs. Too many easy points out the window for the leafs over the past decade.

In theory the time off may help, but in an Olympic year I don't know if rest is a particular problem for non-participants.

Yeah, I think we have to come to terms with the fact that WE are the underdogs now. Other teams are looking at us and licking their chops, not the other way around.

The good news is that we'll be getting Kadri and Bozak back around the same time.

But until then... Smithson at #2? The guy EDMONTON cast off? Holy fu....dge.
