Exactly! They should've worked with the kid, he's only 21. I can't imagine Calgary getting a centre of Joe's or Tyler's ilk...

Reminds me of the time Thornton won the Hart after being traded.

You really need to let that go. Joe Thornton will never win a Stanley Cup on his accord. He will be a passenger to one if it happens.

EDIT: I've asked this question before. Why can't a trade work for both teams? Eriksson is a better fit in Boston and Seguin will excel in a system not so concentrated in defense. Seguin was never going to be a fit or center. He was not willing to do what Julien was asking him to e.g. score in the playoffs, go in the dirty areas. It's gravy for him now Dallas but I can see him going back to the wing. He cannot win a face off to save his life.

I let it go a long time ago, with Thornton I was mad at the Bruins. This time around I'm more mad at the player. I was ecstatic when Thornton won the MVP. With Seguin's one goal playoff performance and whatever else he was doing (off ice) the Bruins thought it was better to get him off the team despite knowing that he could very well score 40+ for the next decade during the regular season. That sucks.

I don't really agree about the Cup thing, there are so many great players that have never won it. Just because Thornton couldn't carry a team to win one doesn't mean he hasn't had a great career. Other than goalies, not a lot of cups are won because of a singular player.

I'm not against the trade, I'm saying it sucks to see him play so well after causing the team to want to trade him. I agree it worked out for both teams, a lot of Chiarelli's trades do.

Is Horton back yet? Garden wouldn't boo him, right? The Seguin booing still bothers me.

since this is a rumor sight anyway, my buddy at the game last night was telling me part of the reason that Seguin and Horton aren't here anymore, is that seguin was playing footsie with Hortons wife, which I really have hard time to believe, but then, Lindros did it too, and I'd hate to start a crazy rumor, unless it was in a quiet place like the internet.

Glad the B's got the win, but they should have done it in regulation.

Agreed as far as the Seguin trade, but we got hosed on the Thorton trade, and yes, time to let it go.

I didn't get to watch tonight's game, how did they look ?

thought there were many missed opportunities, and thought Soderberg had an awful game. I hate to think of the development he may have lost by staying in Sweden.

Take the Win, Coumbus Blue Jackets in town is a "Let-Down Game" if there ever was one. Should be a good tilt up in Ottawa tonight, Always spirited games verse the Sens. Let's go B's

AND to 77eMac77 That rumor has made its rounds for sure, like you say Who knows if its true, have to think if it had any merit you would have seen Seguins face distorted after a thorough Beating

It makes sense. I remember when the Cubs got rid of Dave Martinez for banging Ryne Sandberg's wife. No wonder Chia was shocked Horton just left without bargaining.
