No excuse against Boston... Toronto played damned well against them, and decided to take the last 10 minutes off.
Something they haven't learned to change.
And I never said the Leafs lost because of the refs. I'm just saying, they were favoring one team more than the other. And it just happened to be the team with more fans in the audience.
- Feeling Glucky?
I don't doubt that some calls or non-calls went the way of the Wild. No doubt in my mind. But trust me when I tell you, Wild are more often times than not, NOT on the positive end of botched calls/non-calls. Very seldom, even on home ice.
I watched the game again last night (because I have no life) because I wanted to try and get a better perspective of how the game unfolded and the hits and calls transpired.
Kadris hit on Backstrom was absolutely horrendous and that was a badly botched call by the refs. I keep reading quotes from Shanahan that the hit was "unintentional" but that he didn't try to lessen the blow or take any other type of evassive action. What A crock of poop. He (frank)ing ran Backstrom and threw, not braced himself, threw his elbow/forearm into Backstroms head. Watch it again if you think I'm wrong, it's undeniable. He decided to play Choo Choo train and make Backstrom the tracks. I swear I could see him mouthing the sound "WOOT WOOT" just as he slammed into him.
A 2 (frank)ing minute penalty for goalie interference was called!!. Now you tell me how that was in the Wild's favor. Not to mention the numerous times Niederreiter was targeted and hit late after whistles and at the end of plays.
So if you want to say the Ref's "helped" Minny, that's fine, but they did their fair share of helping Toronto as well.
