Doesn't need to be witty, just truthful.

NHL admits the hit is a good body hit, but continues to pretend the ref wasn't trying to help Minny out.

Why is it when the Leafs lose, the majority of the time it's because of bad officiating? Is it not possible for the Leafs to lose just because they didn't play good enough or heaven forbid got out played? Like it or not Gluck, bad calls or non-calls go on in EVERY SINGLE NHL game, and don't act like Toronto didn't get away with murder for most of the (frank)ing night sir.

Is it possible for Leafs fans to just once lose with at least a tiny modicum of diginity and grace? I could at least respect your argument a little if that were actually possible...

What was your excuse for the playoff debacle against Boston? Bad ref I suppose...

Every fanbase has their idiots. With the Leafs having such an enormous base, they tend to have even more delusional, braindead homers....and a lot of them seem to have found their way to Hockeybuzz

No excuse against Boston... Toronto played damned well against them, and decided to take the last 10 minutes off.

Something they haven't learned to change.

And I never said the Leafs lost because of the refs. I'm just saying, they were favoring one team more than the other. And it just happened to be the team with more fans in the audience.

The Wild won thanks to Kessel

Also, if you take out Kadri's 10 minute major, the penalty minutes were damn near identical... which is surprising considering how much more physical Toronto plays compared to a more passive team like the Wild.

I don't doubt that some calls or non-calls went the way of the Wild. No doubt in my mind. But trust me when I tell you, Wild are more often times than not, NOT on the positive end of botched calls/non-calls. Very seldom, even on home ice.

I watched the game again last night (because I have no life) because I wanted to try and get a better perspective of how the game unfolded and the hits and calls transpired.

Kadris hit on Backstrom was absolutely horrendous and that was a badly botched call by the refs. I keep reading quotes from Shanahan that the hit was "unintentional" but that he didn't try to lessen the blow or take any other type of evassive action. What A crock of poop. He (frank)ing ran Backstrom and threw, not braced himself, threw his elbow/forearm into Backstroms head. Watch it again if you think I'm wrong, it's undeniable. He decided to play Choo Choo train and make Backstrom the tracks. I swear I could see him mouthing the sound "WOOT WOOT" just as he slammed into him.

A 2 (frank)ing minute penalty for goalie interference was called!!. Now you tell me how that was in the Wild's favor. Not to mention the numerous times Niederreiter was targeted and hit late after whistles and at the end of plays.

So if you want to say the Ref's "helped" Minny, that's fine, but they did their fair share of helping Toronto as well.
