Can they eat part of another contract? They already ate part of vaneks and pommers, i thought two was the limit.

I think Leino can repudiate the contract, making it invalid, and then Terry gives him a steamer trunk full of Ben Franklins.

Hawks said for next generation of young players. since that they waived Ryan Stanton (who is having a great year in vancouver) and traded Olson and Hayes. and have kept Roszival and Handzius and acquired Versteeg. Coach Q likes old guys

Chicago only gave up Hayes and Olsen AND convinced Florida to eat half of Versteeg's contract (which was $2.2M for 3 years)??????????

What a steal.

Don't look now.

Rozsival stabilized the 3rd pairing in '13 much like Sopel/Boynton did in '10, allowing Keith to have a lower TOI and not burn out. Helped Leddy too.

Handzus provided an option at 2C and allowed Sharp to play 1L/2L. This also allowed Kruger to stay on the 3rd line with Frolik and lead a great PK, through the '13 cup championship.

Versteeg at $4.4M would not be wise, even if the 'Hawks could manage the cap, which this year they could not. But at $2.2M for 3 years it's OK. Not much given up and if he can play 3-zones better than he did in '10, all the better.

Not sure how you can arrive at that conclusion if you look at the big picture.

Oh, BTW some of the next gen players that will really help them starting, say in '15-'16 are Danault, Teravainen, McNeill, Clendening and Nordstrom.

Florida is going no where and got a good prospect in hayes so good move by both teams, look out for Chicago just another skilled forward for them

Both teams can't win in trades. It's simply impossible according to most people on here.

At least wait until Sunday. I want to see Miller take on Reimer and Bernier.

If history is indicative as to what the future holds then the return on Miller will be at its most lucrative point sometime before, during or immediately after the Olympics. But, a draft choice and a prospect or two will be all we get for him at best. I mean nobody could seriously expect Miller for anyone we've ever heard of right?

However, by that point in time will he want to stay in Buffalo? Whereas trading Enroth along with (draft pick/prospect/veteran) will get more of an established player who could help out immediately instead of maybe by 2016… Good luck with that one Patty.
