What is it about Couturier that gets Malkin so upset? He must just hate his face or something.

It looked like they were about to go at one point.

- PhillySportsGuy

Malkin doesn't fight unless it's the end of the game and the player has his back turned.

IMO we have the best announcers in the East
not really close IMO.

At least we don't have Jack Edwards. It could always be worse.

I loved it, Malkin looked so mad as he threw a fit at Couts. Theystart skating away, and Couts has this big poop eating grin that says, "What's this guy's deal? Is he mad or something?"

Solid effort again. Weathered the first 10 min storm.

As far as Doc / Pierre / Enzo, it's almost comedic in their delivery and man-crush on Sid + Pens. How Enzo could cry and cry over Giroux milking that slash and then not comment on the world's greatest / strongest player showcasing the balance of a 2 yr old is beyond ridiculous.

Is it me or has Simmonds remembered how to handle the puck again? Seems like past few games, has controlled pucks on boards, made good passes.

Really enjoying the line combos right now (sans Rosehill). Keep it up.....

I think of Coatsey as the broadcasting team's pet. They let him have a little bit of fun, then put the leash back on and send him to his little glass box.

i love it!

I think Coots was ready to fight if Malkin wanted to. I don't know if he would have won, but he knows getting Malkin off the ice for 5 minutes is a win for the team.

i wouldnt say that lol
well... ok maybe.
Other than that 1 PP and that one time where he let off that nice wrister which Emery made a very nice save on, Malkin was relatively useless out there.

Who care what he did 2 years ago. Since that time he has scored 10 goals in 46 games has a total of 14 points and is -7, playing first line minutes and a lot of first line powerplay, complete ineffectiveness. Everyone on this board is jumping on Giroux for his lack of productivity, well get him a linemate that would help with that.
- Daceroni

Did you or did you not ask what he's done the past two seasons? You asked the question and now you respond with "who cares". Hartnell scored 8 goals last seasons and was hurt for the first month of that 48 game schedule. So what's the problem? Where is your valid argument?

I think Couts is settling back into the shutdown role. Once he starts having confidence in that role, I think points will come.

Even if he doesn't score a ton, being a plus player while matching up with the other team's best is still very encouraging.

I'll tell you what, take a little nap and we promise to wake you up when the Flyers win a Cup, that way you won't have to put up with all the little disappointments along the way.
- Doc_Sarcasm

That is a classic answer. Everyone including you can critique and hate on the flyers when they are losing but when someone makes a comment you don't particularly agree with that is your answer. I have been a flyer fan for 25 years and am well versed on the happenings of this team on a daily basis so I am completely entitled to my opinion and asking people what they think, without having to be put down by you. If you don't agree then give me an legitimate rebuttal not an insult.

As video game fan myself, I cringe when I see these things. It's like the yang to the Wing Bowl's yin, polar opposites on the spectrum of pathetic.
- BulliesPhan87

I don't mind people playing for fun or a hobby. When people take it serious with announcers and that type of stuff it becomes dumb.

Thats all he needs to be right now. He might grow into a 50 pt guy but I'll take the shutdown role

Malkin was the scariest player out there last night, I thought. Had some jump in his step and was making some crazy passes. I actually thought his linemates were wasting his efforts.

So can we all agree that the first penalty was dumb but also hysterical?
Watching Fleury land on his ass was pretty dang funny.

It's awful. A lot of the games that get that treatment have toxic fanbases and player bases too. I know League of Legends (the most popular multiplayer game, or at least it's up there) actually hired a team of sociologists to figure out how to make their players less insufferable.

Personally, I think it's a fools' errand. You can't teach people skills to somebody who doesn't actually interact with people outside of the computer box. I mean, look at me!

So...based on those stats alone (last year and this year), Timonen is a top-5 offensive defenseman, Luke Schenn is the Flyers' top shutdown defenseman, Jake Voracek is an elite goal scorer, Braydon Coburn is useless, and our goaltending sucks.

Sounds good to me.

I thought Malkin was scary on the powerplay but pretty well shut down in the 5 on 5 play...
And since the refs handed out pretty weak ones to us he was on the powerplay a lot...
