Oilers offered three 2nd round picks for Braydon Coburn at the Draft and couldn't close the deal. Trades in season are much harder to make.

Watching him play lately, I'm glad they hasn't moved him

FWIW, here is what those 3 2nd rounders were used on:
http://www.hockeydb.com/i...s/pdisplay.php?pid=160415
http://www.hockeydb.com/i...s/pdisplay.php?pid=130509
http://www.hockeydb.com/i...s/pdisplay.php?pid=129676

Not saying that's what the Flyers would have done, but those were the 3 2nd rounders Edmonton had going into this draft.

- jmatchett383

I think we all know Flyers would have drafted Rinaldo versions, 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 with those 2nd rounders.

Its becoming pretty obvious that Oilers over value their players at least when it comes to the trade market. The flyers did well by saying no to that deal.

He plays for Kelowna. He's progressing (1.35% versus last year) and his PIMs are way down.

He's playing in a more rugged league (WHL vs. OHL) and his offensive numbers are much better than Rinaldo's ever were.

I've become very interested in the junior leagues. You have the NHL lockout to thank for that, I was WAY into the WJC last year. Got up at 3 AM every day to watch.

Also, I follow Kelowna because that was Shea Weber's junior team and I've always been a fan.

Other teams have had success and look at Haag. We nabbed him in the 2nd.

Depends if we're talking 3 Edmonton picks or 3 picks Edmonton has acquired.
- jmatchett383

thats a good question because from what I see, they had their own pick in 2013 and no others and they don't have a 2nd rounder in 2014 having dealt their own and not acquiring others.

I think Stolarz dressed as a backup last year but didn't play. Before then, it was Kevin Marshall. Which is a pretty good track record since we didn't have a 2nd rounder between Marshall and Stolarz. Of course, the Marshall pick turned out to be wasted on Kevin Marshall.

I would have also. Draft picks are hard enought o predict, let alone 2nd round picks. More likely to have 3 players that never make it to the NHL opposed to even 2 solid NHL players.
- jmatchett383

3 2nd rounders wouldn't get it done for me either. Personally I think Coburn is the one dman they really can't afford to move. it would take a lot for me but that;s me

Dismissing allegations that he told a female aide in explicit terms that he would perform oral sex on her, he said: "I would never do that. I'm happily married. I've got more than enough to eat at home."

Totally off topic!

Stolartz played the bulk of the games for London once he left college.

The previous lockout got me into the college game. I've been taking in CHL games this season when I have time.

I just have so much Amatuer hockey to go to I don't have that much time. We have four games Friday thru Monday.

Rinaldo had 69 points in 185 games in the OHL. Goulbourne has to this point 51 in 159. Of course that said, his projected numbers this year will probably mean he will end up with more points than Rinaldo but Rinaldo was also a 6th rounder

I wonder if Heeter has any NHL backup potential. I have only seen him in a few camps.
