Also if you didn't buy him out you'd have cap issues that would've caused problems signing Franson and Kadri

Let's talk about Ranger that always goes so much better for me
- Garnie

Disappoinng start, but consistantly getting better. He looked like any other average Dman against the Wild.

I'm still hoping he turns into a top 4Dman and I don't think its out of the question.

Dude. Big D. Just breathe.

I added this to my post, but I'll post it here:

To get so worked up about something that cannot be proven one way or the other is bizarre. And I'm certainly not going to use something that cannot be proved or disproved to disparage the judgment of a successful coach who has given us tangible results.

What Grabovski is doing elsewhere is not relevant to what we have going on here. I mean, it's fun to hypothesize and debate about what might have been, but the decision was made based on sound reasoning at the time. That's all we have to work with.

Carlyle is not a monster. Nonis is still a smart hockey mind. The team was better having made the move until some injuries popped up (that could have easily happened had we not bought out Grabovski).

It's not the make-or-break deal you're treating it as.

If we can ever bring the efficiency of our PK (especially that 5 minute major) to even strength, we'll be laughing.

I actually thought Ranger was pretty good, as well. The defense was a lot tighter than usual. Unfortunately, we're kind of like the Senators last year: we need to play games for 2-1 wins until we get healthy.

I thought all our D had a pretty good night last night. A couple little gaffes by a couple D but overall a B or B+

Gotta agree. Special teams and goaltending are why we are winning games.
The D all played well yesterday, but I noticed towards the end of the game that Phaneuf looked completely gassed. Same against Boston too.
