The Kadri run into the goaltender happens all the time, can't count how many times Reimer and Bernier have been run this year with no consequences, nevermind the Gionta hit on Reimer last year. As for Kadris other hit, clean, shouldn't have even got a penalty.

.............and of course the refs didnt mind Dion being run from behind by two players. What a pathetic example of NHL refereeing.

The elbow to Backstrom was pretty blatant.

Chara hits guys in the head 4 or 5 times per game. Kadri didn't ONLY hit him in the head, he hit him in the chest and shoulder as well, and also the head.

uh, I guess so. I don't know what Chara has to do with this hit. It was high, and unnecessary. As was the elbow to Backstrom. I think it's pretty clear, but we can agree to disagree.

I'm watching it. He is bent over, I acknowledged that. But again, you are saying because he is bent over, Kadri is allowed to hit in the head. I just don't see the logic in that. Yeah, keep your head up, hockey cliche, we all know it. But that means blast the guy cleanly, don't hit him high. If he's bent over, there are many ways to hit him without hitting him in the head. You acknowledge he was already in that vulnerable position and did not make any sudden movements...so again, how does that make Kadri not responsible here?

I don't think the NHL is going to buy the argument that he hit his head because granlund put it there.

- Blackstrom2

no, there really isn't.

having your head down isn't what they mean by "vulnerable position". Granlund was in an area where he knows he has to protect himself and he didn't. That's not Kadri's fault, nor is it his responsibility.

likely a moot point cause they'll give him a game or 2 for the elbow to head of Backstrom.

how was it high if Granlund was bent over at the waist?

and unnecessary? ok, but he gets benched if he doesn't hit him. during 2nd intermission TSN guys were even talking about how Toronto coaches said they want Kadri to play with that edge, that he's at his best when he's being chippy and hitting. This was presented as a comment from one of the assistant coaches during the intermission.

that's what's (frank)ing terrible. And Dion was noticeable hurt on the play, and was hobbling the rest of the game, whereas Granlund was out on the PP. Blatantly boarding from behind - shoulder right between the numbers... if Kadri's is a match penalty, which is for injury or intent to injure, WTF is that?

Maple Leafs were super Bush League tonight and if Kadri is not suspended it will be an outrage. Best part Kadri avoided dropping the gloves after blowing up Backstrom purposely then he runs Granlund? Even if you can somehow justify why his hit on Granlund was necessary which it definitely was not, just because he had his elbow in does change the fact he launched at Granlund and it was clearly a charge as well as boarding. Kadri lost his mind tonight but then gets to hide behind the he is a skilled player excuse?

I am honestly glad the Wild did not retaliate tonight because it would have distracted from how class-less the Toronto Maple Leafs played tonight. As Pominville said tonight post game if playing tough gets you put in the penalty box with the game on the line well that is not tough at all.

Better get there stuff figured out because tonight was atrocious and the Leafs should be embarrassed.

Hard to say this with Matt Cooke on your team.

actually it was neither of those, as defined by the NHL rulebook.

I guess Pominville's glad Cooke didn't get a penalty for boarding Phaneuf from behind... and yes that was actually boarding... shortly after the Wild tied it up

First, The Oilers are a joke. Secondly, that call was bull by the ref tonight. Third, where is David Clarkson?

Come on Phaneuf got hit by Brodziak and it was a good check. Kadri took huge strides and launched on two different Wild players PURPOSEFULLY this evening. Its indefensible. Bets part all that tough guy rodeo resulted in a LOSS. Thats toxic the style of play the Leafs displayed tonight. Good Luck

You mean a shootout loss? Granlund played the whole powerplay right after and you should be thankful for Kadri because Harding is way better than Backstrom. Tough to see the guy get hurt but you would have lost with him in. Sorry that your team doesn't like hitting and neither do you. You should probably watch soccer it has less violence.

Wow, Kadri is so dirty. I thought the hit on Backstrom was much worse. A blatant elbow to the head of a vulnerable goalie. Should be 7-10 games. Plus the hit on Granlund. Yikes, this goon should be gone for a while. Dirty and no room for that kind of garbage in the NHL.

I dont like guys targeting skill players and goalies then hiding from dropping the gloves or justifying it by being a skill player like Kadri. No different from Taylor Hall or Dustin Brown cheapshot/liberty taking. Ugly

Toronto is not better than Minnesota and has been outplayed in both matchups this year.

Nice deflection. Kadri was an idiot tonight and I hope the NHL gets it right and hands him a lengthy suspension. Flying elbow to the head of a goalie? Does it get any dirtier? What a joke.
