Don't reason with them. They are talking about the Chara hit on Raymond. I tried politley telling them that it was ok... But was told im an idiot.

If Blue bood didn't run so deep in my fans I would be the blackbeard on the S.S Leaf Fan Hater

Wrong. No one once mentioned that actually...

Sure, that's fair, I'm not sure what Chara hits this year you think are even remotely suspendable though? Let alone comparable to Kadri v Backstrom. Lucic/Miller I see although out of crease, not blindside, prior to league cracking down on goalie contact (although the reason for it) etc.
- Double_A

Wingels. I think it was on him. Hamilton should have the same thing. Oh and Seidenberg? hit behind the net was just as bad as Kadris, it just wasnt against the glass.

I think that was all in the SJ game alone.

Edit: I'm just going with Peddy's point here. Needs to be consistency in the calls.

Natalie Alcoba ‏@nataliealcoba 2m

Also, Ford says he is suing Towhey, Christopoulos and Ransom. "I never had a prostitute here, I'm very happily married at home."

Natalie Alcoba ‏@nataliealcoba 1m

Mayor Ford also says he will sue waiter who said he was doing lines of cocaine at the Bier Markt. "That is outright lies."

- faceto27

Mayor Ford called a staff meeting, told everyone he wasn't stepping down and there was lots to do.
so lets get cracking

Well if you know what I would have done, then it must be true.

This is a pretty lame post right here...

It's not true. But take your own advice and move on..... Claiming that you KNOW what one WOULD do in a certain situation is pretty lame.....

I agree the hit was clean. But so were the other suspensions this year.

HonestHockey said it best yesterday

The hit was clean. But its a penalty now in this new NHL. (or something like that)

I have to learn to live with it and come to the point that Hockey or Life in general isnt as tough as it once was. The end.

When refs miss calls on ice sure, they need to make split second decisions (although some are obvious and shouldn't be missed). But the fact that the league has replays and time to review the play and still do nothing about it, but will do something about it to another player is what the problem is, it's the consistency of this league when it comes to this matter.
- peddy-93

It's a joke... I see elbows flying, feet leaving the ice over and over but there is no injury or no hit (missed hit), so there's no penatly and therefore no consequence. Or someone hits a guy from behind when the opposing playing touching the boards (ala Dion) last night and there's no penatly but if Dion was three feet from the board there would have been a suspension.

They make decisions based on the injury rather than the crime. It's like only suspending drunk drivers if they cause an car accident where another person is involved... but if they were in single vehicle accident or got caught while driving home you just let them drive home to sleep it off.

So just to chime in on the Corsi thingy. Minny is out shooting the leafs like 10-3 in the 1st and 7 shots I counted were baby wristers from the blueline

So does Corsi remove them as shots???

You said that it was okay because he was taller. A hit to the head is never okay.

Not to start the argument again. But every hit Chara gives is illegal you know.

Every time he hits someone contact to the head is made.

Those other ones were not clean (on penned and Ericsson ) hit only the head. That's the difference. It's right in the rulebook

It's not a penalty if you hit a guy from behind if he's on the boards but it's called boarding if there is room between him and the boards - that's why no call on Phaneuf

Officiating and Player discipline is a tough business, never has been and never will be perfect or consistent.

I thought Z/Wingels was a penalty for sure, actually thought he might get a game for it. But see the reasoning much like Kadri/Granlund. Don't remember the other 2 you're referring to.
