Bruins get a free pass in their barn; those are the rules, Bettman said so.
Kadri's not helping himself at all in this league with questionable hits and non-stop whining after every call against him. Hopefully he grows up, but not loving Kadri's play this year. - gravyface
I love the tough gritty pain in the ass kadri that is scoring.... |

It was a stupid play on Backstrom, and ya he might if he doesn't smarten up. But if you can't body check a guy anymore than how is this hockey?
I understand the leagues concern to minimize concussions and I agree with it, but man, just because your head flings back on a clean body on body hit, doesn't mean you should be giving out match penalties for it. Pretty soon this league is gonna turn into a no-contact league. |

Playing tough (within the rules) doesn't/shouldn't change anything. Leafs constantly get hit from behind with no call. - burn
That does seem to happen quite often. |

and once again, I'm totally confused as to what a clean hit in the NHL is. You keep your arms down, you target the chest and do everything by the book and yet you still get a 5 min penalty.
I don't get it.
If he gets suspended for the backstrom hit, so be it. But not for the Granlund hit. IF he gets suspended for the Granlund hit, just take hitting out of the game and get it over with. |

alright good.
I can accept that. |

Just went through a few pages and saw a bunch of fans from other teams come in and voice their opinion like they're relevant, Kadri plays with an edge but by no means is a dirty player. His hit on Granlund was clean and if that's suspendable or a match penalty than players in this league should start wearing tootoo's.
His hit on Backstrom is a suspension but Kadri isn't a dirty player. I find it funny that a Sabres fan who has Scott and Kaleta and a Pens fan who had Cooke are the first ones to speak up. - peddy-93
Maybe because the Leafs fans are the first to troll other sights with there opinions. My take is this was a head hit, actually both were, so if John Scott got 7 games and that was his first offense, Kadri should get 7 as well. But we all know the process is bias (IE Bruins) so what he gets is anyones guess. to read Leafs fans excuse this hit or claim it was not a head hit is laughable. |

So was Reimer and Miller, both got concussed, neither player suspended. Not mad about the hearing Kadri is gonna get because he deserves to be suspended, just annoyed with the consistency of this league. |

Nazem Kadri's hearing with the NHL's department of player safety today is for his hit on Niklas Backstrom. |

But who's questioning his hit wasn't a head shot? I'm pretty sure everyone's saying he should get suspended for the Backstrom hit, not for the Granlund hit.
And Scott is in the NHL for one reason and one reason only, that's why he got 7 games because of his repuation as a plyer. Don't compare them. Why didn't Gionta get one game for concussing Reimer? Or Lucic for concussing Miller? Consistency consitency consistency.

One word: goggles. - ClarkHitsBell
Typical leafs' fan reaction, give me a break, had that happened to a Toronto player you'd be screaming for suspensions. Kadri is nothing but a gutless punk, typical trash play by a trash player.
You need the googles |

I wouldn't say he's trash, but it was definitely a punk move last night. I'm actually a fan but the Backstrom play really can't be defended. Laying a hard forearm/elbow into a goalie's head is going to get you suspended (unless your name is Milan Lucic). |

That's my problem. I've never once said Kadri shouldn't get suspended because he should, its the consistency of these calls that are annoying. |

I don't buy that, how do explain the Bruins who constantly hit from behind and high hits, how do explain the Leafs getting called for boarding hits one after the other on the west coast trip? None to the other team.
I can accept missing some calls, it happens, but this has been happening multiple times every game, it is an integrity problem if you believe what you wrote, can't have teams getting away with it just because they play at home or the refs like them, that is total B.S. |

That's fine, but when it comes to suspensions, I don't care if you're human or not, you have plenty of time to review the play and make the right decision. Which the league fails to do on many occasions. |
