Predictions of methods Dreger will use to off himself if Subban makes team Canada?
- CH1909-2009

I don't really care if he makes it or not, I just enjoy listening to 690 take this matter so personally that you'd think each of them had a role is siring the Subbanator.

Why are they even THINKING of extending him? (frank).
- Pecafan Fan

Didn't they have him out on the 5 on 3 kill? They're obviously seeing something we're not.

Diaz thing is making me nervous

I was just about to say the same thing. At what point will they make room for the young players coming in if they keep the soft poop around? Beaulieu can take Diaz's spot next season, and frankly I don't see how he can be worse.

I care in the sense that I think Canada has a better chance to win Gold with him in the lineup, name another country whose power play would compare to Canada's with him there.

yeah I don't get that one. I mean last year I kinda defended him but in retrospect I think that's only becasue Weber made him look like the tough Swiss but on a soft team you can't really afford a guy like that on the back end.

They talked about it yesterday on 98.5. I don't really know if I'd do it. Kane looks like he has poop for brains.

The idea in getting bigger as a team is not exactly switching big guys.

I could understand where they come from though. In a short tournament you want guys there who are coachable and who can easily and quickly fit into a common game plan.

I have no idea how PK is with regards to being coachable and from watching the habs I can't even say I have an idea what their game plan is supposed to be but if what we hear from media rumblings is true then that's a knock against him.

I think Canada has enough depth that if they regard a guy as even being remotely capable of a huge brain fart on the ice in a big game especially on defense, they have someone else to go back to.

@Adam_French @Pie Even more reason to have Subban there, otherwise Sweden has the edge. At least in that area.

Switching a soft big guy for a big guy who can hit/fight is OK with me.

EDIT : And score as much.

Fair enough. But if the gold comes down to a close loss with three goalless PPs I'll write Mr. Yzerman a stern letter.

He did well when he played in the WJCs, so I don't think its a coaching thing. As for the defensive lapses, there's as many guys considered locks that are capable of these on occasion. I don't want a repeat of Turin, with a bunch of lumbering jackasses unable to skate on the bigger ice.

yes don't get me wrong, if you build an Olympic team and leave out the Norris Trophy winner you'd damn well better come back with the gold medal.
