2. The forward would allow Eller to not be a top line guy. Gallagher and Galchenyuk would get a more consistent player with them and could be a force on a nightly basis. Eller, Plekanec, Pacioretty, Bourque, Bournival and whoever else you want to keep in the top 9 will be streaky, get their 60pts and be defensively responsible.

The D would play with Subban allowing Markov and Emelin to be the second pairing. and then Habs can keep Tinordi-Diaz-Gorges as 5-6-7.

It would allow players to be slotted appropriately throughout the lineup. And I did say an above average team, not an unstoppable juggernaut.
