At this point the Flames have so many more bright spots than the Oilers as well. It's quite remarkable really.

Listen, my beer league team is doing terrible right now and Im not chirping the other teams, but we dont play for the Flames so we have every right!

Thing is, the Oilers have the right assets in place to make a big splash, but they are currently in a position of weakness and most GM's wont be paying too much for Yakupov type. Eberle will get them more bang for your buck, but is a tough kid to trade. Not easy being GM.

Hall, Ebs, Nuge, Yak......good luck trading ANY of them and not getting absolutely roasted!!!

disagree....tons of value in Ebs, Hall, Nuge....Yak is the one who has been receiving all the criticism for what ever reason, despite all of them struggling. Its a team game, but dont think that because the team is struggling that these guys arent still studs.

I agree they are GOOD....studs? Remains to be seen.

They are dealing from an awful position, I think they can get good value but probably not full value.

Either way they need to do something, but they need to make sure they get something awesome back as well or the franchise might as well fold.

Iiii dont know...though I agree they shouldnt make a deal just because (knee jerk as you say) the Oilers DO need to do something and soon. That team isnt well balanced and they have the pieces right now to make some improvements. They just need to assess which player(s) they can afford to move.

I think completly the other dirrection here Ebs Hall and the Nuge are the ones getting all the ice time while the Oilers are losing I think every GM in the league is looking at the Oilers and thinking alright lets try and low ball the oilers on these guys clearly they have not got the skills to win in the Oilers enviorment.

Yaks on the other hand is not seeing quality ice time with quality line mates so to me his stock is still very high. Of course after yesterday with what he and Larionov had to say his value may have dropped quite a bit
