"This team" means the scumbag Flyers that are sitting with the Oilers, Sabres and Panthers at the bottom of the standings. A team that no self-respecting contender should ever lose to. A team that is led by a Nickelback loving whiner who has played himself off Team Canada.

As bad as Pens fans think the Flyers are doing, they actually have 1 more point than the Pens in the last 10 games. So theres that...

They're definitely playing better (3-1-1 in their last 5) than they were the first time. I still don't think they're on the Pens level, but I don't expect them to be utterly dominated like they were last game, scoreboard aside. They're actually acting like a team as opposed to 20 randomly selected guys playing shinny.

I just hate how, some game days, everyone from both fan bases can be fairly jovial and agreeable and just take small shots, and then some meathead has to come in and just start bashing one team or the other and ruin it. Some people just need to be angry I guess. Probably a sign of small infertile genitalia (just a hypothesis).

Don't get me wrong my Flyers hate runs very deep, but as far as I know you don't play for them. Unless jmatchett383 is secretly Claude Giroux, then that's a different story.

I'd be happy to have the hockey playing abilities of Riley Cote or Jay Miller (early 90s pens enforcer, I think it was Jay Miller...or am I off?).

Edit: Jay Caufield. But I guess I'd rather be Troy Loney given the choice.

Wait, you are going to get all sensitive on me for taking shots at the Flyers, when every post you made was a shot at the Penguins. I just condensed my shot into one post.

To be truthful I actually do not care when Flyer fans post in here, just as long as they avoid the aged and tiresome "Cindy" or "Crysby". And the only reason that those bother me are that they are so old, lame and lazy attempts at an insult.

I disagree with you preference. I am hopeful that the professional ice hockey club located on the Eastern portion of Pennsylvania will prevail in competition over the professional ice hockey club located on the Western portion of Pennsylvania in their forthcoming ice hockey match. Furthermore, I make insult of your manhood and wish to convey a desire to procreate with your wife or significant other in a malicious way.

At what point did I take a shot at the Penguins? I guess quoting Crosby could be considered taking a shot at them. If you actually read here often, you'd know that they're actually my 3rd favorite team and I watch them the 2nd most. You're the one who waltzed into some good natured ribbing and good conversation and blasted away homeboy.

Well. That is wonderful for you. I despise the Flyers, and Philly and the Flyer fanboys who I have a feeling that most of them wear Affliction shirts and their favorite band is Avenged Sevenfold.

The only good things about Philly are The Loved Ones and Dave Hause and even he spends 300 days of the year touring.

There are a lot of "Cindy" and "Crosby sucks!" Flyers fans for sure. But a lot of us on here are actually pretty level-headed and are totally fine with rational conversation, coupled with occasional good-natured ribbing. There's a Penguin fan on here (he knows who he is) who used to be a bit overboard, but he's pulled a Cooke and is now pretty cool to chat with.

I have a feeling you've never spent time in Philly or interacted with a lot of Philly people, because your description of them applies to the "bros" who live here and that's about it. I actually find your depiction of Flyers fans a bit insulting, but at least you didn't compare us to Devils or Capitals fans. I've spent time in Pittsburgh myself, and there are certain aspects of it that i really dislike, but the city has its own special charm, and there's more than a few reasons why I'd go back. For instance, the stadium area is fantastic to walk around, and I want to get out to a Pirates game.

You just seem to have a lot of misdirected anger. I used to too, then I just realized that hating things for the sake of hating things was really draining and got me into some trouble.

Here's the thing. If my anger seems misdirected than I am sorry if I offended you. But I feel that a rivalry like this is a more positive release of anger than me being angry at my wife, or my dogs, or the residents at the center I work at. So if I seem angry towards the Flyers and their culture then I apologize, but it is a release that I use instead of taking it out on other people.

You are right, I have never spent any time in Philly and honestly I have very little desire too other than to perhaps go to a couple of Dave Hause shows. There is nothing else about Philly that I find appealing.

I'm not going to "Troll" the Flyers board that is not the type of fan that I am, and I am not accusing you of trolling, but if I want to abuse the Flyers in the Penguins comment section I don't think that I should have to justify that to a Flyers fan. Just like how I don't think that Flyer, Ranger, Devil, Bruin, or Sharks fans should have to justify insulting the Penguins in their teams sections. Again I am not accusing you of being overly inflammatory in this comment section.

In truth, I have very little anger or hatred in me, I tend to be introverted and empathetic. Hence why I work in addictions and with the homeless in Alberta. I have to have extreme patience and just brush it off when I have a drunk resident attacking me as a person. So if I want to blow that anger off by saying that "Claude Giroux is a diva and his 22 game goalless streak was karma for being a Flyer" I am going to say it in the Penguins comment section and not worry if it offends a wayward Flyer fan.

I always found the majority of them to be of the "crosby sucks" variety you described than someone who is willing to actually discuss hockey. They are very hard headed as well even in discussions, about crosby usually because that what they like to talk about when they find out I'm a penguins fan, when I say I understand why you don't like him but if he played for your team he would be your favorite player and they always come back with the I would never be a fan of a diver cry baby nonsense. I will say their fans are very passionate in every sport, sometimes overly passionate, but they love their sports teams but are sometimes blind to reality.

lmao, I find it so adorable when you guys project the years of Crosby whining accusations on Giroux.

EDIT: oh wow, there's a whole argument here. I still think it's adorable though, you folks are lovely.

Pretty sure you're going to find a similar split between meatheaded fans and thoughtful ones anywhere. I don't know if it's because we just have an inordinate amount of sports fans in the Philly area, or we've got more vocal fans, or what, but people always seem to act like we're a buzzing hive of retards, and that's just not the case...

...even if most of the jerks around here refuse to use their turn signals.

I feel like the realm of fandom is much like the feelings that go on while actually playing the game. Both before and for the most part after hatred and emotion tend to stay on the ice surface. Its a little much to hate someone over a team they root for, unless given ample reason. However, during the game; I so wish the jumbotron would fall and crush everyone on the Flyers bench.
