Poulin is in net tonight. getting his 3rd straight start.

I dont think Poulin is our answer in net but has outplayed Nabby bigtime.

- Spartiarti

I'm surprised you do not think he can be the #1 guy? It's still early but I'm impressed with Poulin.

I'm telling the facking truth you will believe me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When Nolan says, "I'm not going to comment on it but what happened with Dominic's wife it was bad, real bad. After I'm done in the NHL it'll be in my book" kind of gives it some credibility

- Cptmjl

Yeah, but here's his comment yesterday...
"I honestly don’t know what made Dom feel the way he does,” Nolan said last week. “I tried to treat everybody fairly, but as far as kissing up to players, I’m not one of those guys.”

In addition, Nolan worked for Robert Irving in Moncton, whom apparently is quite the moralist. Word was there was NO WAY Irving would have hired Nolan if that rumor had been true.

Who knows, neither seem to comment on it much but no player for Buffalo has ever come out and said anything. You'd think Barnaby and Ray would have said something by now if the whole league of GM's secretly know.

Rumoar are Lindros banged Rod Brindamours wife, and Nolan did hasek. Both seem quite possible.
Think about it Nolan got removed from Buffalo after having a great season.

- Spartiarti

Or, the team chose to side with Hasek who was pissed that the media accused him of dogging an injury and his coach didn't stick up for him. In the meantime, Nolan had made negative comments about Muckler, getting him fired and then proceeded to do the same about his next two GM's. There's a pattern of Nolan not having a filter.

As for the Lindros rumor...that was it, though it also reappeared as a rumor with another player as well. Both were false.

Don't forget Comrie banged Salo's wife, hence he left EDM....
Plus there's more rumors, but we shall not list all.....

I believe one recently sprung up about Seguin....it's all good soap opera stuff to explain conclusions that folks can't otherwise explain.

I know in the case of Hasek and Nolan, Buffalo's owner had said it was all about Hasek getting killed by the media that year and Nolan fanning the flames rather than helping.

Dominik Hasek might disagree, considering he was very outspoken in saying he was better off without Nolan as coach.

**edit..for the record, both Rob Ray and Mathew Barnaby have gone on record as not being fans of Nolan either.
Again, we're calling the guy a solid head coach because he did well 50% of the time. Frankly I was very unimpressed by Buffalo's performance in that series against the Flyers years ago. He decided to use Barnaby as a lock on Lindros which was downright laughable. Were it not for Hasek that year, that team would likely have been well out of playoff contention. It took DP's best career season along with a great final five games from Dubie to get the Isles in.

I don't doubt that players love Nolan because he gets guys going. He's a good leader, but it takes more than that to be a good coach and in my eyes the jury is still out on Nolan.

- keaner17

Barnaby and Witt both came out on twitter yesterday claiming Nolan was the best coach each of them has ever played for and that he would have Buffalo ready to run through a wall for him in the very near future.

I agree with you. I like what I see in Poulin. I hate to say this but he plays five games amazing than what Dipietro did in his career with Islanders. SO that should tell you something.

To me it's going to come down to the D. I think the Isles are in good hands with Poulin. He will have bad games like any other goalie. I think if he is given enough time, he can be the guy in net. To be fair, I thought DP was a fine goalie before the injuries.

FYI, it's been tweeted by the Isles that the lineup stays the same. So I guess Tavares plays tonite and Vanek sits.

He was a great coach for them but I'm kind of shocked by it too? He had problems with everyone from the top to the bottom. I think it was a reflex action almost. Probably should've thought it through a little more.

They did to make the fans happy... this will be a short term thing.

I went to the game on Tuesday.

The "Fire Darcy" chant was fun...lol.

I tend to think Nolan will be there for a while if the Sabres turn things around.
He tends to get a lot out of his players.
