In terms of a new GM choice, in my opinion, Rick Dudley would be the smart play here, but I don't know which way the organization is actually leaning. Ek
Truer words have never been typed on this site. Wasn't a peep about Patty or Nolan going to Buffalo on this site from the Anonymous Blogger or Garth.
HB great for forums, but an "insider" site, not a chance

I truly believe that you didn't mean to offend anyone - just pointing out (for cheap laughs) that your comment can be perceived as politically incorrect. - Atomic Wedgie

Good move Buffalo!
Just can't figure out why they pulled the plug on Regier now instead of before he made the Vanek trade.... |

He always got good return, they were probably waiting for him to make the trade. |

you cant get a job with an nhl team in the front office without a ton of credentials, maybe a mba, JD.....or you skated. how does a former captain or alternate become a scouting expert, salary capologist, a subject matter expert in personnel decisions? sakic, Lafontaine? |

I mentioned the hire Messier for GM early after the news broke in Kevin's blog and a half hour later people were calling into wgr550 saying that they might interview him. Could you imagine the Sabres hire Messier and let him hire a coach. Dare I say he would ask Gretzky to coach. |

Kassian was drafted the same year as Kadri, is is only a few months younger.
And incase you forgot, at 22(last year) Kadri was PPG in the NHL. - Feeling Glucky?
Well. Almost PPG. But your point still gets across to the idiot nucks fan. |

What a gong show.
First, they allow Regeir to trade away one of their two assets that will actually get them something. Then they fire him? I'm not saying the trade for Moulson was bad (it will be if he doesn't resign, though), but why wouldn't you let the new GM use that asset to rebuild the team as he sees fit?
They obviously knew this firing was coming, and the Sabres got 3 of their 4 wins on the season after the trade, so they can't act like they just thought to fire him now.
Then they go an hire Nolan as the coach (without even having a GM!). Nolan was always known as a great motivator, but horrible at actually teaching the game and being an 'x's and o's' guy. You would think a teacher and strategy guy is exactly what a young, rebuilding team would need at this point.
There is a reason why Nolan hasn't had a head coaching job in the NHL in almost two decades, other than the disaster when he went to the Isles for a bit.
I feel for all you sabres fans today. - Charliebox
dude your not going to find a good coach that wants to join a rebuilding program thats why they got ted nolan. |

2.41
Bernier

2.17
Reimer

2.30
funny....both our "backups" are better than your starter.
it amazes me how wrong you can be time after time, doesnt it get old?
oh and Kadri, yeah...76 points in 116 games...
oh and Kassian, ......26 points in 98 games.....
is that you Mr Gump? - big_dion
Bernier and Reimer must be better than luongo. Great stats.
Can't wait to see them both on team canada!
Ben Scrivens 1.89 and .924 sv%
Looks like we got our 3 goalies for Sochi. |

I'm glad we hav Bernier, but the hate on for bobby is stew-pid. I wanted the trade.
Ps it doesn't matter what head office moves the sabres make. The will still suck. Buffalo has that dude from the x files ensuring they never win. Cigarette Smoking Man. |
