haha i like and respect the vast majority of them. him though, never. i mean congrats to him that he somehow collects a check and gets to share the ice with great stars night in and night out. but nope.

come to think of it, brayden schenn and rinaldo are really the only two relevant guys from this current team that i cant stomach. (i should shower just for labeling rinaldo as relevant)
but other than that, im at least neutral on a lot and actually positive on quite a few.

Well before tonight I didn't know that Joe Vitali was your best faceoff man.

What's the reason for the hate on Schenn? Is it this by any chance?

Or is it the love tap cross check to the back of Crosby?

ugh. when that is the case, youre going to have problems more often than not.
he actually is pretty decent at it, but still.
haha i wouldnt brand him a folk hero like so many flyers fans do for rinaldo and, even worse, the legendary carbomb before him. vitale is a 4th line energy guy, nothing more nothing less.

none of those things help, thats for sure. definitely probably a large part of it. his mouth runs more than it should, and he always seemed to find his way into the middle of a crowd in that series. his attitude combined with his desire to either leave his feet or generally lead in high for hits bothers me as well.

Can't tell if sarcasm...
As for me, I didn't like that hit too much - Giroux_Is_God
Wasn't really that bad IMO. Typical reactionary call by the referees on the injury outcome not the actual play. To me it's a borderline charging infraction, nothing more. 2 minutes.

yes. how could i forget to add downie to the list. i havent followed him too closely while he was in colorado, so maybe he has changed. but i loathed him as a flyer. honestly, he is worse than rinaldo in my book. downie actually has the skillset to be an effective bottom 6 guy without resorting to goonery. i understand rinaldo basically knows that once he loses that cross the line edge, he will be back in the AHL. downie was just dirty.

He''s cleaned up a lot actually. He was a cheapshot artist early on as a Flyer. He's developed into a Hartnell type with a little more of an edge to him

yeah like i said i admit i havent really kept up on him. good for him if hes realized he can make it without that stuff, similar to cooke. ill definitely wait to watch a decent sample size on him before lumping him back into his old ways

Yeah that Dean McAmmond preseason hit was disgusting and abhorrent.
And like *that* all two of my fantasy hockey teams are showing promise. Went from 11th to 8th in less than a week since we(that's everyone here) kept up the hope. In the other league I've kept a secure 3rd. Some moron dropped Claude! ffs.
While it's not time to celebrate yet, folks, it's certainly time to smile a bit more while walking around with our silly orange and black uniforms. I wore my Flyers hat proudly yesterday morning pre-game, and will do it again on next game day, in Duck's country. My 10 yr old daughter decided on being a Flyer Zombie for Halloween and wore my old away jersey from the 80s. It was a hit!
ex I think coots has show progress this year, even if not scoring
looks stronger, better on faceoffs
his potential is still very high
the advance stat people can show you his possession numbers are very good, to me he passes the eye test - Marc D
I can't disagree with most of that. The extra muscle he put on and his overall maturation are helping him out in being more capable of battling along the wall, and though it has tailed off a bit, his improvement in faceoffs is encouraging. I think as he develops he'll get better in the areas I mentioned before...but it just seems like some only seem to recognize the good D plays and ignore the mistakes and shortcomings (particularly in the D zone)...but again, that should improve...and I (like everyone else I'm sure) really want to see that offense come around. From what I see he needs to be more assertive in taking shots when they're there, especially when he carries into the zone...and on the line he's on, he would do well to position himself in the (high or low) slot (without the puck) as Downie and Read should be able to fetch and dish pucks toward that area. Imagine if this kid starts producing like we all know he can?!
