I love Hartnell's ending comments to McGuire in that little pregame interview.
McGuire: "A lot of people like your new haircut"
Hartnell: "Thanks, it's short like yours"

Make no mistake, I love the Flyers and I love Ray Emery but if we lose tonight goaltending could be the blame but for me, it will due to miss management of goaltending. I'm happy Mason got a shutout but I believe Emery should have started last night, Mason tonight and Mason on Friday. With this said, I wish Emery a huge statement game. For me personlly, a Flyers loss only stings most when it comes against Sidney Crosby and the Penguins.

Listen to Bill's latest podcast here on HockeyBuzz. He's got some good arguments for starting Emery (especially when thinking more long-term).

I don't think it's that big a deal, honestly. They have two capable goalies, and had they gone back to back with either guy, it means a long lay off for the other. If Emery had started yesterday, then Mason tonight and Friday, it would be a week between appearances for Emery.

Conversely, if they had gone with Mason tonight and Emery Friday, Mason would have sat six days between games.

Do we have to keep pounding the non-goalie controversy?
This doesn't come close to the awful goaltending catastrophe authored by Laviolette in the playoffs with Bobrovsky and company.

No idea. So they're doing pregame stuff on NBC already? Puck drop is after 8PM right?

Because NBC wanted it slotted like that. I hate 8PM starts in the EST zone. Silly.

This could be a really good measuring stick game for the team. A loaded opponent, that always comes out with intensity against this team.

Should be a game where the trench boys shine, and play their game. Get under the skin, and work the boards.

Hartnell, Simmonds, Downie, and to a lesser degree Rinaldo/BSchenn need to set the tone. The Penguins have continously shown they are a team that is easy to take off of their game.

Agreed, wholeheartedly. This is much more due to a weird schedule quirk than a goalie controversy.

I don't really think there's a wrong way to play this situation, there's pros and cons no matter what Berube does

Yeah I was just thinking that and the Flyers were one of the best at doing just that to Pittsburgh.

The Flyers have won the last two games because I haven't watched, so do I watch today? Wasn't able to watch on Saturday and they won so didn't watch last night and they played their best game. Being superstitious I think it's better luck for me not to watch.
