Emery might have proved this with the Cup champions but not with the Flyers this season.

I guess this is his chance then.

Nice!

You are more than welcome to come over. The stone swords is a done deal - easy. As for the pillaging - I have heard of a colony of christians where first round picks are as plentiful as they come, where lotteries are constantly rigged in your favor, where referees will blow the whistle your way, and your way only, and where the Public sector rewards your team with a shiny new stadium just for being poop for decades. Sounds like a place for pillaging?

I have to get around to reading Ender's Game.

- Bearintheforest

Ender's Game is fantastic. Read the book, avoid the movie.

Seriously though, I really want to go to Norway (or, failing that, Iceland or Sweden). Mostly for the sights, partly because Scandinavian women are incredibly gorgeous.

Ok, say you are right. Then this is good for Emery who many people grumbled got overlooked when Berube took over. You can see it as throwing him under the bus or you can see it as a strong vote of confidence from the coach. I could spin it either way.
- FlyersGrace

With more consistent starts I could look at it this way but I would rather not take such gambles with division rivals, especially when the Flyers have already dug themselves into a hole early on this season. Ever point matters.

Whether I like it or not, I suppose this is his chance. What if the team loses though? I hope Emery does play well and leads us to victory but if he doesn't, many will point out the obvious after the game that I'm already pointing out. Emery should have started yesterday, Mason tonight. Then Mason could have went on to play Friday after night. No questions moving forward.

Haha. Well, yes, there are some fine women here. But if I were you going on a bootytrip, I would stay the hell away from Iceland. I have yet to see an Icelandic woman and not confuse her for a Kentucky truck driver or a polar bear.

BUT WE DO NOT WORRY ABOUT HOW THEY LOOK. THAT IS SEXIST.

Flyers showed they can be a very good team when they skate and play hard for 60 minutes.

Its been years since they have pulled that off, so it was very good to see.

I'm a bit surprised at Ottawa, they have outworked the Flyers consistently the last two years in head to head games.

I am not convinced the Flyers can keep that up, but it was a tremendous effort from the whole team.

I am glad that Berube is giving Mason the night off. I did not like how Lavi would roll the hot goalie even in back to backs. I would have been OK playing Emery last night and Mason tonight too.

I like what Downie brings to the top nine. He is hard on the puck and has some stick skills and grit. They were short a top 9 winger and Raffl/McGinn/Talbot were not getting it done. Downie fits there and makes the top 3 lines seem more balanced.

Sitting fat Schenn didn't do much for his confidence. Maybe just let him play himself through the mess right now. Give him at least 18 minutes a night and see what happens.

Completely agree with the poster that said getting G's line going will take enormous pressure off Couts and baby Schenn. Very important and a key to this season.

Mase looks fabulous, and it seems him and Giroux are bonding. I never felt that with Bryz. I thought Bryz had the skills to be a #1 but especially towards the end I didn't feel the team would take a bullet for him.

Excited for tonight, love Pens/Flyers game day, especially since the last two games makes think they have a real shot tonight.

NFG are you righty or a lefty?
I box southpaw due to years of martial arts training and a dominant left eye... So I could probaby take the left side no problem.

And yeah I didn't want to put words in your mouth. I figured you could defend yourself...

I'm really crossing my fingers for goals from Couturier, Simmonds and Streit tonight. Timonen really needs one too but I would be happy if he got an assist. The man needs a point.

I'd be ok if they just kept Crosby pointless...
