I like the idea of Emery tonight and Mason on Friday. Emery is a good backup goalie, and there's no reason the Flyers can't win tonight with him in net.

Plus, if Mason played tonight he'd likely be off on Friday, which means he'd be sitting for nearly a week before next Tuesday's game. With a goalie playing as well as Mase I don't want him sitting that long ... play the guy every 2 or 3 days when possible.

- FlyerGuy

I dont' want Mason to get overused like Niemi is getting in San Jose
makes no sense to kill Mason since Emery is great as well

Really... Whatever.

saw tweet from mynhltraderumors that the Flyers are "actively" shopping Meszaros and Luke Schenn.

There you go... I cant get onto twitter to show you the exact post, and I didnt want to post a link to a rival forum... but whatever... chase it down if you like.

- youarewrong

a post from a poster in a forum, here or rival, isn't a rumor. It's a post from a random dude. But people who follow mynhltraderumors will know how much credence to give their tweet.

Are you in Norway or on a former Bugger planet?
- jmatchett383

I am in Norway. I didn't know what an inhabitant of a Bugger planet was. So I googled it.
they’re basically smart space ants

And I still haven't got a clue what you are talking about...?!

yes he does and while I think it is stupid......I mean, people who come on here are always going to come on here even if they see a link to another site but don't yell at Bo or OB. they don't make the rules. they just enforce what they are asked to enforce. Don't shoot the messenger

This is the quote that was "targeted"

"Heard on another site the Flyers are actively shopping Meszaros and L.Schenn. I know Mez was a given, but the L.Schenn was Spec until heard this.....

Do the Schenns, and Laughton get you Weber?"

How often do we similiar posts... How often do we say rumors are...so and so... Just tired of the B.S. that comes at certain people, but not at others.

Because Eklund's rumors are always substantiated, and because reliable sources are always the first ones to break rumors.. lol

I guess all we need to do is just say it's from a very "reliable" source and we're good, right?

That "rule" is so contradictory because the sites that post the rumors, are more than likely not reliable in the sense of those rumors coming true. And your "reliable" sources like TSN, etc only write things that are factually happening or are supported of actually having a good chance to happen. The rule in and of itself is a paradigm in many ways.

If people are taking what they see on a forum site as gospel anyway, they have problems. It's a rumor and chatter site... hence the "buzz". I don't see what the big deal is...

"There's too much going on in the REAL hockey world without posting fake rumors and trades." I also find that amusing, considering 90% of Eklund's rumor posts don't come to fruition... 5% are previously broken by TSN or other writers... and the other 5% of the time he's right. So yeah, there's "real" things happening in the "real" hockey world... but that sure as heck isn't here... lol

- WarriorHockey21

You agreed to the rules in order to post here.

Knowing where a rumor comes from (preferably with a link to the source), allows the readers and posters to know how much credence to give based on the earned reputation of the source...whether it is Ek or TSN or someone else.

Linking to a competing site (one with discussion forums) is not okay.

Starting discussion with your own speculation of what you think would make a good trade is fine. But you'll soon realize who among us actually follows the sport and understands value for value and who does not.

It has more to do with eyes being on the site at a particular time. Don't see all 1000 posts a day.

No one was warned or banned or disciplined. Gentle reminder.

It's from Ender's Game. The Formics (called "Buggers") are a bug-like alien species that Earth has had 2 wars with.

But that's awesome, I want to go to Norway. I want to visit the beach with the 22-foot stone swords and I want to pillage a European Christian colony.

Well I'm not on twitter. I am here to discuss something Hockey related that I heard, and I discussed it. I thought that is why we are here.

Hey guys, what do you think of this:

Right now, the Flyers are overloaded at defense. Gill has no trade value, but maybe L Schenn and Meszaros do. The Flyers have healthy scratched them both, and are probably looking to move them. What kind of return do you think they could bring if you package them with another player like B Schenn?

Everyone I've met here around the house says Beckers is the place to go. I was shocked that the Country Place isn't the classiest hangout around.

Yes we could do that.

Nice!

You are more than welcome to come over. The stone swords is a done deal - easy. As for the pillaging - I have heard of a colony of christians where first round picks are as plentiful as they come, where lotteries are constantly rigged in your favor, where referees will blow the whistle your way, and your way only, and where the Public sector rewards your team with a shiny new stadium just for being poop for decades. Sounds like a place for pillaging?

I have to get around to reading Ender's Game.

I do wonder why there is such a concern if Mason has a week off between playing game and less of a concern when it happens with Emery. Emery can't even get into a rhythm before we throw him into a tough contest. I find it to be extremely unfair and it tells me our coach doesn't think ahead.
- Schenn2shine

Emery has proven he can elevate his game as a back-up and without consistent play. Mason not so much... I'm ok with him in net tonight and Mason back again Fri.

Today's Brad Marsh blog on what makes for a good NHL locker room -- both from a player interaction standpoint and a room-design standpoint -- is fascinating stuff. Brad has a level of expertise in this area that makes him uniquely qualified to discuss that topic, and the blog is packed full of great info and stories.
- bmeltzer

Bill, it's been really great reading Brad's blogs over the last few weeks. When I got your book a few years back "Behind the White Mask" I read it in one sitting. Couldn't put it down!!! It's a must have for any Flyers or even NHL fan.

I hope Brad and yourself would do a Flyers book together.

It's less of a concern with Emery because he's clearly the backup. Kind of impossible to have BOTH the starter and the backup get into a rhythm.

or, are you being sarcastic?

- FlyerGuy

Tonight Emery faces not only a division foe but the division leaders. The Penguins are clearly a much stronger team than the Senators. As a back up and a player who's only gonna be playing in games a week to a number of weeks apart, he should be playing the lesser teams. Not the Red Wings. Not the Penguins. This concern of Mason having nearly a week off is odd to me, especially when he's not starting in the games he should be starting in. Tonight is a greater test than last night. Some of the players might even be tired, so one would think you would want your best possible line up ready to go tonight, including our best possible option in net.

Do you think Hextall will take the Buffalo job, or is he waiting for Homer to join the masses in the unemployment lines?

Ok, say you are right. Then this is good for Emery who many people grumbled got overlooked when Berube took over. You can see it as throwing him under the bus or you can see it as a strong vote of confidence from the coach. I could spin it either way.

Country place is good and cheap, beckers is an up and coming craft beer bar. My homebrew club meets there.
