I loved the Downie for Talbot deal and I hope we manage to resign Downie to a reasonable cost. He's not the same player he was when he was traded. Clearly!

I cannot believe the outrage of the trade. Talbot must be the Flyers most beloved fourth line player...EVER!

i have always loved downie and now that he talks just like carl spackler i am even happier

Believe it or not, a week before we traded for Downie, I was thinking it would be great to pick up a guy like Downie or Steve Ott. Just a guy who can stir the lot and back up his words a little. Steve Ott in my opinion is wasting away with the Sabres and has plenty to give elsewhere.

I'm not concerned about the cost of a player as much as I am how good a fit the player might be with our team. Lucky for me, I'm not the one who has to make these decisions. To me Downie and Ott are virtually the same player. Downie is just the younger version of Ott but Ott also kills penalties.

the 06-07 team Clarke assembled was putrid but as the season progressed Homer he started making deals that made them better (Parent, upshall, Coburn, Kukkonen (for Calder no less) and Biron and while they were still losing, they looked a lot better and gave hope.
