Good to see nothing ever changes around here. I expect to be banned within the next 24 hours, blamed for someone's milk getting sour but you learn to live with it afte awhile. - Schenn2shine

Hey Guys!
I have to admit that I'm very excited about tonight's game. Tonight we'll have what I consider to be a full line up. The line combinations and defense pairings I feel are acceptable. Hopefully we can over come a hugely slumping Power Play. I feel the Flyers have a real opportunity to turn it around on the road tonight.
I cannot say I'm a Berube fan at this point. I think he's beating a dead horse by forcing something that isn't working on the PP. I never understood how Raffl earned a spot on the first line earlier this season when he'd only been in the NHL 5 minutes. I don't think it's fair to Emery to hand Steve Mason the starting job, start Mason every single game and once Mason has a bad game, Berube basically throws a rusty Emery into the fire or under a bus (which ever way you'd like to go).
Right now I'm not buying what Berube is selling just yet. When the guy dares to try something new and it doesn't work half way through a game, he goes back to something that didn't work last week. Stay the course Chief. - Schenn2shine
How've you been, man?
Explain a bit more what you don't like about the PP.
G on the half boards opposite JV, Simmonds in front and Kimmo at the top of the point getting stale?
The guy opposite G on the other half wall has to be able to pound a one timer, and I'm not sure that is Voracek's strong point.
I have never liked Hartsy and Simmer on the same PP unit, but it worked like magic last year, so I could be wrong. |

I'm really good buddy
Stale is the perfect wording to explain the power play. First I don't feel Hartnell and Simmonds are talented enough to play together down low. They're both net presence players. I feel one of them should be on the second unit and I feel like we had something going Lecavalier on the right halfway setting up from a one timer either through the box from Giroux or the top of the umbrella from Timonen or Streit. I feel both Streit and Lecavalier should be on that first unit. |

How about just talking about hockey. Because talking about posters unable to respond is the issue. |

Mason has earned the starting job through his play. I'd also say he has yet to have a bad game this season. Yes,he was pulled after the third goal in the Washington game, but none of those goals were his fault. It was more an attempt to wake up the team.
Emery went out and got a shutout -- albeit a rather easy, 14-save one -- the next night. He was going to start in that game regardless of what happened against the Caps.
I do agree that he's been juggling lines a little too much for my liking. |

I loved the Downie for Talbot deal and I hope we manage to resign Downie to a reasonable cost. He's not the same player he was when he was traded. Clearly!
I cannot believe the outrage of the trade. Talbot must be the Flyers most beloved fourth line player...EVER! |

Talbot is a good guy and team mate but skill wise the Flyers won that deal.

Prior to Laviolette being fired, I had the feeling Lavy was gonna have the two netminders compete for the starting job. Well obviously that changed the moment Berube took over. I'm not in the least saying Mason hasn't played well. He has. What I am saying is, he's not the second coming of Martin Brodeur. I feel even if Mason is our clear cut starter (and he is) we're over using him already. If Emery were to get a little more playing time, I think Emery would equal Mason. In fact, I was hoping Emery would start tonight and Mason tomorrow, seeing that Mason is the one more in a groove. Tomorrow night is against our arch rivals and division foes. |

My favorite part of the announcing is when Jackson is like, the Ref in front of the play didn't call the penality, but the one way back on the blue line did.... lol Its may favorite part... |

Believe it or not, a week before we traded for Downie, I was thinking it would be great to pick up a guy like Downie or Steve Ott. Just a guy who can stir the lot and back up his words a little. Steve Ott in my opinion is wasting away with the Sabres and has plenty to give elsewhere. |

Pittsburgh doesn't play tonight and Ottawa doesn't play tommorrow night. Why the heck didn't the league schedule Pittsburgh tonight and Ottawa tommorrow for the Flyers?
As far as i can tell there's no scheduling conflicts. A Pittsburgh, Ottawa, Winipeg schedule would've been so much easier on the travel. You cut out one complete round trip flight to Canada. - Flyers_01
There's about 20 mins difference in flight time between the two itineraries.
PHL to PITT to OTT to WPG to PHL
or
PHL to OTT to PITT to WPG to PHL
They won't come back to PHL before going to WPG in either case.
