Lemieux? - aightwebang17
Probably...kind of hard to not give it to the Hall of Famer that owns the team |

I still couldn;t tell you who it was in Pittsburgh before Crosby - Jsaquella
I actually liked the Pens when they were bottom feeders. If memory serves, Mario, Kovalev and Stracka were on the team. I actually wanted them to turn it around because I felt they were a respectable Cup Winning team. Than along came Crosby, his tears and the media love obsession. |

Didn't say I wouldn't want him, but the incredible prices people were willing to pay for him you have to show up every game. The Sens as a team struggled tonight, sure but his biggest knock has been his consistency and that's my point when people are prepared to hand over Coots, BSchenn & a 1st for him. - hereticpride
B schenn shows up every game? Coots?
Ryan is 26 and has scored 30+ goals every season he has been a full time player. Thats consostency.
Giroux gets paid more, relied on more, and valued more and he doesn't show up every game.
I would have done that trade with Anaheim. |

Did anyone watch the Canadian feed of the Flyers game tonight? They mentioned Bobby Ryan's favour Flyer tonight but I missed and couldn't hear the name. Anyone catch that? - Schenn2shine
Didn't catch it. Those guys bored me to sleep. |

Good looking game tonight. The entire team had lots of jump, Simmonds was flying and had good quickness. Jake had his motor going. I like the lines. Downie had a strong two way game playing with Read and Coots, right where I imagined him...each line seems to have the complementary elements, a guy who can carry, a guy who can win battles on the forechek and dish, a trigger man etc. Defensively, I liked a lot of what I saw...the Flyers were tenacious in the defensive zone and battled hard to win pucks and get them out quickly...Grossmann was having a real solid game until he went out...whoever thinks he's slow needs to watch him win that icing in the 1st (note where he came from to do it), and a couple of other hustle plays he made. Coby looked good, again, which is very encouraging...Timonen seemed to have his mojo back in this one. I like the way the (team) D collapsed down into slot to keep the Sens from getting into high percentage scoring areas...and Mason, man, this guy continues to do everything he's asked to do and more, it's great to see his efforts pay off with wins.
There was a lot to like out there tonight...I want to see more of this. Tomorrow will be a tough challenge...I'm trying to manage my expectations, but win or lose, I want to see the desire and compete level we saw tonight. |

I agree...just yankin' yer chain, my friend - Jsaquella
haha i know no worries. although i will say, while he wasnt exactly a role model as an 18 and 19 year old, he also was thrust into an area of attention that early that most players will never see in a career. you have to admit, he is much better now. he is not really any more or less whiny than your average forward scoring captain. |

Honestly, my only issue with Crosby is one that isn;t of his making....it's the NHL constantly jamming him down everyone's throat |

totally valid. i hated tom brady in the NFL for the same reason for a long time. one day i just realized it doesnt hold much weight logically. all of the sports do it, and the NHL is no different. actually, they were probably much worse due to their extreme desperation for some sort of excitement and desire for the next big star. it can get annoying even from a fan's perspective |

As I stated earlier, I loved Mario. The early 90's Penguins were more likeable in my opinion. |

If anyone else saw the phi-pit rivals on NBC sports it was excellent. Man it has me itching for tomorrow and some meaning hockey. Just great. |

Lecavalier leads the team with 3 PP play goals and is probably our most threatening offensive player right now but for some reason is on the second PP unit. |

Lecavalier is averaging under 13 minutes of ice time per game; that seems fairly low for your #2 center. Maybe, being valuable, older than average, and a little fragile, his energy is being conserved for later in the season. Perhaps even the playoffs. |

Tonight in my mind was a perfect game. I cannot even remember the last time I've seen the Flyers clicking from top to bottom. With this said, I hate the Peter Laviolette firing. I do. The timing was terrible. I miss the time outs at key times. I just watched an episode of rivalries Penguins-Flyers. Laviolette vs. Dan Balsma was a pretty good rivalry with the Lindros Era against Lemieux Era. Crosby vs. Giroux. I just feel Lavy had as good a chance of righting the ship as Chief. |

I dunno man....I dunno.
If everything is true about the players in bad shape, that kind of tells me they tuned him out. His offense only system was not flying with this D and forward corps. This team needed a system installed that better fit the mix of players, and with Laviolette too stubborn to change anything....well- that's why he isn't here anymore. |

Penguins are losers of their last two. The last time they played was Saturday and before that last Wednesday. In two games, they've scored two goals. I wasn't expecting this until I looked it up but I do feel tomorrow it's important to keep on keeping on. Very excited for tomorrow. |

Luke Schenn got better as the 3rd period wore on. He plays better the more ice time he gets. - ggunky
