Giroux's got 10 points in his last 12 games. - JAKEw1234
The team normally looks like garbage when Giroux does. His game has picked up steam. The Philadelphia Flyers will be just fine. |

Ask a Penguins fan under the age of 25 if they were a fan before Crosby got here. If they say yes, test then the same way I test a Hawks fan if they're a true Hawks fan. Ask him who their last four Captains were in order. In a Hawks fan's case, ask them who was Captain before Toews. They never know. - Schenn2shine
My brother in law is a pens fan, early 30s, and he didn't know who bob johnson was. |

Balanced play by all 4 lines - Crimsoninja
Yeah, Hall and Rino were both over 11 minutes in TOI & Rosebud clocked in at just under 9 minutes. For as much poop as I heap on them, they played a very good, 4th line game tonight. |

Did anyone watch the Canadian feed of the Flyers game tonight? They mentioned Bobby Ryan's favour Flyer tonight but I missed and couldn't hear the name. Anyone catch that? |

Yep. I totally get that...I do recall a few years back...maybe more than a few now, but one Sidney Crosby jumped a guy off a faceoff in a game vs Florida, and he was hailed as a leader trying to fire his team up.
Granted what Emery did was certainly more extreme, but there's examples beyond those two. I just think it gets more play because he's a goalie and honestly, there is a bit of fun for some of the national media when it's the Flyers living up to the Broad Street Bullies mantra. - Jsaquella
i dont exactly advocate that either. 1. that shouldnt be his game. you want to fire your team up, put the puck in the net. and 2. yeah, once again, dont go after someone either unwilling or totally unexpected. if words are being said as the puck is being dropped thats one thing, but to just totally grab someone who is concentrating on winning the faceoff isnt exactly heroic.
granted, some may think i have a very finesse view of the sport, but i dont consider it as such. i can appreciate physicality within the parameters of on ice play. im not a fan of goonery regardless of the sweater |

I have to admit, for the life of me, I can't think of who the Blackhawks' captain was before Toews...I feel like I should know this, but for the life of me, I can't remember. Gah!

I want to say Marty Lapointe, but I'm not even sure. I think Adrian Aucoin was captain for a year in there somewhere, too |

I read a lot of slack against Rosehill early this season and the hatred against both fighting and enforcers on their roster. I see no difference between Tom Sestito and Jay Rosehill and if I remember right, people liked Sestito around here. |

We've moved out of last in the division, and moved out of last place for goals/game. Small victories. |

YEAH BUT ONLY ONE GOAL AHHHHHHHHHHHHH TRADE HIM STRIP THE C HIDE HIS SKATES BREAK HIS STICKS - Giroux_Is_God
It would have been nice had Giroux buried one of those two beautiful chances he had tonight, but beyond that there is nothing to complain about in this fine win.
Looking forward to tomorrow. |

I don't like enforcers-or rather, goons-at all. If you have a guys who can play and is tough, that's great. But if a guy is in the league primarily-or solely-for his fighting ability, I'd rather not have him on my team.
Most successful teams, even those who dress an enforcer, are able to play their 4th line 8-10 minutes a night, regularly. When you have a Rosehill or Cam Janssens or Matt Kassian, that doesn't often happen.
Now, playing a goon doesn't necessarily mean your team is screwed. The Leafs have been fine playing Orr & MacLaren playing every game. Minnesota has dressed Kassian for more than half of their games.
I just like the flexibility that having a fourth line of Raffl-Hall-Rinaldo gives you |
