I see your point ... I just don't want Mason to play tomorrow AND Friday. Emery is a good backup, and needs to get one of the next 2 games.
- FlyerGuy

you dont play your backup against a team like pittsburgh. The starter gets the nod. Emery should play on Friday. If the Flyers lose tommorow Emery will know to bring it on Friday

ill admit i dont know who you guys have on the slate for friday. but if youre determined to give emery a game in that span, i just wouldnt ask a coach be able to go to mason with the way hes been playing and tell him he doesnt get the crack at the team's biggest rivalry. so id go mason and then emery.

If Mason starts against the Pens, then Emery is almost certain to go Friday in Winnipeg

the problem with Mason tomorrow and Emery on Friday is the Flyers next game after that would be next Tuesday. That's almost a week off for Mason.

I don't like the idea of 6 days off for Mason in that scenario.

What a cannon shot to win by OEL in the Coyotes game.

I hope this is the case. We need our best chance at winning this and I'm hoping for no line up changes. Everyone who played tonight deserves a crack tomorrow. Although Hal Gill has been a pleasant surprise.

So far, in the only back to back, Berube split it. Of course, the first game in that set was the 7-0 drubbing from the Caps, where both Mason and Emery played.

I wouldn't be surprised-or upset-either way. Emery's a solid goalie.

I'd probably go Mason myself. I'd even stick with the same line-up, although Luke Schenn had a rough night. He did redeem himself well in the third, though, really played solidly in the last twenty minutes

The Flyers have already had six to sevens days off and Mason came back strong between breaks. It is a risk though.

not to be crucified for any anti flyer bias, but im not exactly a fan of his at the moment. although yeah, i will admit talent wise he is more than a capable backup

No fear, I didn't care for him going after Holtby, either. I think more has been made out of it than should be, though. He's not the first guy in the NHL to jump an unwilling opponent in a fight.

But, as long as he stops pucks, I can live with it.

It's understandable. I would be too if he wasn't a Flyer. I didn't necessarily agree with it, but I also think (not to downplay it) it got blown out of proportion a little bit.

See the likes of Pronger and Jags, only they didn't really do anything to "catalyze" it like Emery just did. I just hated them all the time!

You won't get crucified around here...at least I hope not. You've made a good name for yourself

a lot of Flyer fans weren't too thrilled with what he did, either.

i will definitely say that it got the publicity it did likely largely because it was between goalies. but still. im not really a huge fan of that aspect of the game in general, but if you do choose to be a tough guy, find a guy actually willing to dance.

The Power Play had a good night tonight, although I still feel it would be a simple transition to move Lecavalier and Streit to the first unit, while sticking Hartnell and Timonen on the second. I also feel Couturier should come off the PP for maybe Gustafsson playing the point or Downie down low.

I'm rambling...

Brayden Schenn scored a nice goal tonight by being the net presence on the Power Play. I hate it. It reminds me of when he first got here and he was killing penalties. I think Schenn was hurt twice blocking shots. The same thing could happen having him stand in front of the net like this.

Yep. I totally get that...I do recall a few years back...maybe more than a few now, but one Sidney Crosby jumped a guy off a faceoff in a game vs Florida, and he was hailed as a leader trying to fire his team up.

Granted what Emery did was certainly more extreme, but there's examples beyond those two. I just think it gets more play because he's a goalie and honestly, there is a bit of fun for some of the national media when it's the Flyers living up to the Broad Street Bullies mantra.
