Luke Schenn got better as the 3rd period wore on. He plays better the more ice time he gets.

Yeah I noticed that too.

I agrEE. Emery was brought in to play as a capable backup, use him.

No reason to grind Mason down.

- ggunky

Plus no Pens will try their typical poop after the whistle with Emery.

they have had only 2 right?
- watsonnostaw

I can only think of Mason & Beauregard off the top of my head. Might have been one of those guys who played a game or two here and there over the years, but those are the two that I recall.

EDIT: just saw on twitter, JS Aubin was back-up for a few games, but didn't play

Unfortunately almost everyone in the metro except the Isles got a point today it looks like

Make that the Rangers, and you're totally right On the other hand, if the Flyers had lost they'd be even more in the basement. Has to keep up with the others.

And those are the kind of games why people didn't want to sell the farm for Bobby Ryan. Had the TV crew not done their whole "Cherry Hill kid" bit you wouldn't have even noticed him out there tonight. That was the exact knock on him all too often in Anaheim the last few years.

I thought he looked pretty good.

They were shut out 5-0. Blaming one player is a little short slighted.

He's a hell of a winger and every team would want him.

1 game on hand though, would be pretty sweet to get 2 points tomorrow.

I cannot remember the last time the Flyers played a perfect game such as this. Tonight they played 60 minutes, I feel the line combinations and defensive pairing were exactly what they probably should have been coming out of camp and they flat out had the right attitude. They were having fun out there. They stayed the course. I feel everyone deserved to be a first star tonight.

You're right.

Someone call Gary Bettman and tell him the Flyers forfeit the remainder of their games.

Hope is a funny thing...you can't take it away from a bunch of diehards!

Honestly, I feel Bobby Ryan is exactly the winger Giroux needs on a line with him. I like Jake Voracek a lot. I thought he looked like Marian Hossa the past two games. However, if Voracek doesn't reach 20 or dare I say 30 this season, I would consider offering him up for Ryan. I didn't think Ryan looked bad at all tonight and from my understanding has been one of the Sens better players this season.

Didn't say I wouldn't want him, but the incredible prices people were willing to pay for him you have to show up every game. The Sens as a team struggled tonight, sure but his biggest knock has been his consistency and that's my point when people are prepared to hand over Coots, BSchenn & a 1st for him.

I see your point ... I just don't want Mason to play tomorrow AND Friday. Emery is a good backup, and needs to get one of the next 2 games.

Ask a Penguins fan under the age of 25 if they were a fan before Crosby got here. If they say yes, test then the same way I test a Hawks fan if they're a true Hawks fan. Ask him who their last four Captains were in order. In a Hawks fan's case, ask them who was Captain before Toews. They never know.

ill admit i dont know who you guys have on the slate for friday. but if youre determined to give emery a game in that span, i just wouldnt ask a coach be able to go to mason with the way hes been playing and tell him he doesnt get the crack at the team's biggest rivalry. so id go mason and then emery.
