I'm with you, I HATE having a skills competition decide a game, its ridiculous. Could you imagine MLB deciding a game after the 10th inning with a homerun derby? Go with 10 mins of OT and if the game is still tied, than its tied. I don't know anyone who used to not watch hockey because some games ended in a tie.

The NHL and it's predecessor leagues had ties for nearly 100 years. There's nothing wrong with ties.

I'm thinking Hockeybuzz should give a clean slate to all and rewrite the Hockeybuzz rule book because the punishments are way too harsh. Nobody is forced to be here but it isn't exactly smart to drive fans of the site away. I have no problem with bans within reasonable reason but I do have to ask how a mod becomes a mod? How are they deemed someone who can make a fair and unbiased decisions to ban someone? Why both banning a person for one year to three years? Such long time doesn't make sense to me unless you don't want this user returning at all. Should this person return, is it fair that this return still be on such thin ice? It just doesn't make sense to me.

I agree the banning stuff and mod stuff is very junior highschool. Can't we just be adults. Seriously it's a hockey message board. Sure MJL can act like an insufferable know-it-all but I can see past that and enjoy his contributions to the discussion. Hopefully I don't get banned posting this.
