I like your location. That's my wifes maiden name. Of course, she lost it the day we got married, and hasn't found it since.

Vanek is a pure goal scorer no ? Foligno is going to be a very good player, reminds me of Shanahan.

I don't see Yakupov going without McDonagh coming our way.

If I'm wrong on that, then I don't see a deal with Yak coming our way without Kreider returning.

- ystoil

I f you were the GM the talks would never have been heated. They would have been over before they began. You might as well ask for Lundquist. You would have a slightly better chance. Slim is better than none!

But are those issues with the coach and his system or the players we have on our team. I can't give our players, mainly our young kids a free pass anymore. There is no way we should have gone through as many coaches we have and still end up with the same crappy results and keep blame it on coaching.
- EastCoastOiler

Then thats managements fault no??? Maybe you keep Renney another season before awarding things to Krueger or you keep Krueger... it (frank)s development everytime you hit the reset button... and a team of rookies with rookie coaching is a good recipe for failure know?

Isn't this the same kind of hard nosed my way or the highway ego style of coaching that MacT was a bit known for?
- MnGump

MacT got the most out of his players. Eakins is not.

Schenn would be a nice addition
- saskoil21

If Coburn is in the deal I dont think Homer would be willing to do Coots or BSchenn. Read or Simmonds would be more likely. Maybe Laughton.

If you're willing to take Grossmann or LSchenn instead of Coburn then you might be able to get BSchenn or Coots.

It's everything. Management hiring a coach who doesn't fit the players we have, a coach not adjusting the small things that were successful last year, but aren't anymore.

I just find it hard to blame the players because they can't play defense. MacT and Lowe should know that you just don't learn over night. We are seeing what happens when you put guys into the NHL at such an early age and don't surround them with proper vets and then go with some sort of defense that resembles the Ukrainian national team.

There is blame to be given to a lot, but at some point if these kids aren't going to play the system you want them to then you better change the system or change the kids.

Hope they go back to phily talks... I'd even add ebs to that deal... but a 1st or high profile prospect would have to come back

I think the Coburn deal is dead. He's been playing well this year and he is not the problem. They need more guys like him not less. Yes they need scoring as well, but they cant give up their best Dman.

Was he not injured all of last year- meanwhile Yaks led the oilers in scoring... come on you dont got much there... reaching to say the least...
- saskoil21

You might have your expectations set a bit high for a 19 year old Dman. It's all about the value going forward.

Ebs Yak N. Schultz for b schenn coburn simmonds read
- Killbot460

That's just making the deal too big. If the Flyers can do a two for one(plus picks from us) on Eberle or Yak then I can see a fair hockey trade getting done.

Coburn, Simmonds, 2014 & 2015 2nd rounders for either Yak or Eberle(perferably Eberle)

That's about top dollar is see Homer paying.

i agree with the sentiment though. I mean, if the centerpiece of a deal with the Rangers was MDZ you'd be better off not doing it

i wouldn't care for the 2nd round picks. i personally would ask for mcginn or prospect along with simmonds and coburn. if yak is going back, then flyers has to take on two extra ufa bodies minimum. if ebs goes back, then one extra ufa body from edm.
